At some point during this year a new set of rules/regulations/something was introduced Hololive wide which severely limits what they can and can't do. Bonus points if it is the kind of <thing> made by upper management that just feel completely moronic to the average worker. Ever since Council it feels like once a girl gets her 3D reveal she's "doing homework" and flying to Japan and stops streaming as much. They also stop doing whatever their specialty was and just streams the FotM slop.
I think I get it. Management doesn't give a fuck about streams. Superchats and YT ad money is a small percentage of the company's overall revenue. They want the talents focused on the money makers like sponsorships and idol stuff, even if their customers simply want to see the girls on screen.

Someone should actually deploy some weaponized autism and plot this out in detail rather than just state it as an unsourced hunch. It would be quite damning.

First, lots of indies have "managers" (lol), and second, the post was also generally about not wanting to see drama and only wanting consistent, drama-free content, and indies are often pretty poor at both.

Ackchyually Vdere's conflict was also management conflict because Mozu is, or was, the manager.

Joke aside, in situations where they have managers or some sort of collective direction and stake, disagreements happen. They don't get resolved with losing the IP, but talents taking business issues personally might and will cause issues even among indies. I guess isolated ones will be more chill, as they only hang out with their close circle but I don't think vtubing with no corps will be as drama free as some people believe.

I liked corpos because it has tard wranglers and rules. Without that you get a Kson. Sometimes it won't work (looking at Nijisanji), sometimes the person is focused enough for it not to matter (Dokibird), but at its best it made sure talents were focused and had a goal and not led to complacency with "talent freedom," but right now these guardrails are growing too narrow and it is worrying how this is affecting talents. I just hope Yahoo sees how this is affecting talents and tries to change course, and I believe he can, Cover has rebounded from mistakes before and I doubt Cover isn't potentially seeing their decisions as mistaken at this point.

Indie drama is a completely different kind than corpo drama, if you ask me, simply due to scale and the fact that corpo idiocy is different from domestic malignance like with Miyu/Mini. When it's indie drama, it's either petty shit or domestic violence. When it's corpo drama, things operate on a scale larger than the individual. Honestly, even though the only indies I watch are the Vedalverse and the occasional Doki, I deal better with indie drama than corpo ones, but that's just my personal opinion. Less fallout potential.
