Back when I was new to VTubing, I went by Nova, and I was an event hoster IRL. So, after helping run the first VTuber prom event ( It was a fucking shitshow, but I'm not gonna get into it -- basically had to do all of the work with the help of one other while the main host just bragged about it being his event -- whatever ), I met a lot of cool creators in the space at the time.

The Afterglow started when a fairly known creator made a Tweet jokingly saying how they wish someone would host a party during COVID since everyone was cooped up inside. I commented, having experience with doing this already, about hosting such an event. It was so successful ( over 80 people RSVP'd ), I decided to make "The Afterglow" an official event that I would host once a month on the last Saturday of the month at the same time.

Real quick, to clarify, these events were hosted in VRChat. I networked with a group of well known creators in VRChat to set up live DJ sets and coordinate with world creators to customize these events for my parties. Like, I'd go to meetings about the future of VR n' shit and help with volunteering at virtual events to help get my group extra assistance if we needed it. Like, connections to DJs or whatever I needed or programs to assist with live feedback into a world.

I was very strict about my parties being for everyone regardless of size. Any VTuber, or someone who was a creator for VTubers ( like, model mamas n' whatnot ), was allowed. Although, I'd say about half or more of the attendees were fairly sizable creators.
Now that that's established, some time went by with minimal problems. The introduction to Marina was when one of my friends who used to be on the staff team asked if their friend could join my staff to host a NSFW after-event at my parties. I was pretty fucking against this and told her no. And, it turns out that Marina had decided that since I said no, she would host her own parties altogether. It wasn't a problem for awhile, but I did notice Marina getting in and schmoozing with people for their Discord information. I remember talking to one of my good friends who was up-and-coming at the time and Marina barged in, interrupting our conversation, just to get their Discord details and then leave after complimenting something that was popping off of theirs.

I also remember one of the only times I was critiqued negatively was by her because I did a big "instanced event" ( multiple 80 people servers for a party ), and Marina was mad that she didnt get to be in a world with a REALLY big creator even though I put her with every one of her friends that she put on her RSVP form. Like, it was clear she just wanted to clout chase.

Eventually, she did finally announce her first party. Except, it was being labeled as a "VIP" experience party and hosted on the same DAY and TIME as mine. She had a whole ass month, picking any day, and she chose the day that mine was always hosted.

I couldn't just reschedule because I put a lot of work into my parties. I had DJ's scheduled, worlds prepped for the night, and volunteers to help me with the talent show portion in the middle of my parties which was just a fun side event for drunk VTubers to sing or tell jokes at and win awards.

So, all of my party goers who she had messaged behind the scenes, stopped coming to mine to go to hers. I went from consistently getting over 80 people coming to my events ( with a waitlist to get in ), to 9 people.

I can only assume that people liked hers over mine because she had been using her "charisma" to climb as a streamer and was starting to average over 100 around this time. Befriending other big NSFW creators ( they would host these weird VTuber orgies ), and I was basically a nobody who did not stream and only dedicated all their freetime to hosting this group. So it's like.. Go to the VIP party of a creator who is growing in popularity or the nobody who's only reputation is hosting VRChat events. Or maybe she's just super charming, I don't know.

Her parties were SUPER base plate, though. Which I think pissed me off even more. She killed my party to host these plain ass events, and sexually harass people, leaving my staff and volunteers with nothing. She was so fucking lazy about it. She even stopped hosting them fairly quickly which I can only assume is because she realized how much fucking work it is. Who knows. Her last party was for her birthday.

So she killed my passion project, just to use it to gain popularity and then drop them altogether.

I never gained anything from hosting. I didnt make money, it was essentially a part-time job, and I didnt even fucking stream because I didnt have the time. Her party Discord has a channel with all of her model references and makes announcements about her stream n' shit. Like moves all these big creators in there for her parties and makes it pretty self-centered.

But, I went to one of her parties.

Around the time she started hosting, I had gotten hired for a VTuber company, LumiLive, and Marina didn't know I was Megumi. I asked her for an invite, and got in because I was doing pretty well number-wise at the time.

At the party, I literally heard her and her friends shit talking about how killing my party was on purpose ( even got more confirmation from an friend who used to hangout with her at a later date ), and at one point she comes up and just start crossing boundaries like fucking crazy. She started asking me what kind of porn I like, to which I didn't reply and just kept awkwardly laughing because I didn't know her. She then goes on about how she'd love to just be in a Discord call with me and silently observe me while I watch porn -- which just fucking blew my mind because I feel like I couldn't have been any clearer in my discomfort. I was trying to hangout with one of my friends. She then mentions how she loves to use her vibrator on Twitch streams while no one knows, and controls her friends while they are on Twitch and asks me for my code and at which point I'm no longer speaking and just leave. I avoided VRChat for over a year. It's just so fucking insane to me her lack of awareness and I can only imagine how many others shes been to like this. And, I've already heard a couple stories.

From what I have been told, the lack of evidence often comes from people getting sweet-talked by Marina and believing that they are a nice person so there isn't any reason to record or screenshot shit. A few weeks or months along the line you realize that you got backstabbed and fucked over and at that point everything and anything you could've screenshotted already happened so you can't go back. At that point often the people just don't even want to deal with it anymore and just want out.

Would be interesting to see if anyone recorded any of those VIP parties or hell even one of the "orgies".

Some people probably have a laundry list of dirt but won't say shit because it's also possible that others have gathered dirt on them. Given how shitty a good number of people are in the Vtuber sphere and how prone they are to backstabbing and stepping on each other for clout, it wouldn't surprise me.

This is one of the major things I'm worried about. There may be relatively innocent person who will end up being complicit in shit simply through their own inaction or ignoring a situation. And those ones who might have plenty to say will be too afraid to come forward since they themselves might take a hit. I'm especially interested in some of the major players from in and around Marina's clique like CottontailVA and Buffpup. God knows who else might be caught up in the web.

Marina is a fantastic manipulator, so I'm willing to hear some of them out when this shit goes south; however, given her actions, they will need to provide substantial evidence that they were not involved with a lot of Marina's shady dealings as based on the evidence Im seeing I think they may be involved in something unforgivable. I don't know what degree Marina has, but his former job as a teacher has convinced me that, based on his current actions, he is probably a Pedo. To power level a bit, I know several teachers, and I know that they have training on kids' safety on a regular basis. Given that Marina would have been required to do this training regularly, I do not believe Marina deserves the benefit of the doubt on the discord allegations and that this knowledge excludes him from Hanlon's razor argument that he was just ignorant. I know the training teachers go through, and I know for a fact that if Marina was a teacher, they would know better, and their action of leaving the date ambiguous was intentional, just like breaking the new Twitch TOS. Also, given their fetishes, they get off on power imbalances like master and slave, and combined with his past actions, I think it's not much of a leap to believe that Marina gets off to the idea of the power imbalance between adult and child. I agree. I don't think loli matters at all in this conversation. An extremely large portion of the vtuber community (including vtubers themselves) are lolicons or shotacons. Feel free to investigate what you want though. More information is always good.

Well, without any sort of evidence, we just have to take you as your word. You do have some stature in this community (a position and reputation you're putting on the line against Marina being able to provide evidence you're a liar) so that's not entirely worthless, though. But any sort of corroboration, even if it's just the word of someone else in the community who would know these things and also isn't afraid of coming forward, would be useful.

I'm the guy who wrote the OP in our thread on that certain other agency so I know a bit about it, and I certainly want you to avoid legal trouble as much as possible. That said, I hope you're still around if and when the legal issues are over and you can answer our questions on that as well (hopefully you're not bullied into a settlement with a gag order). In both that and Tsunderia's case I felt the worst for the talents who had stopped their indie activity in the months leading up to debuting as a new corpo generation and ended up having nothing to show for it except bad memories.

As for LumiLive, I don't really know enough about it besides that all of its talents quit at once, so I don't even know where to start asking questions. If you don't mind writing a bit, would you be willing to start a new thread on the The Rec Room board (use the blue "Post Thread" button near the upper right) and put your story in a few paragraphs and we can take it from there?

If that's too much writing, you could also just make a stream out of it. Let me know when and I'll be sure to tune in.
