I know Asmongold isn't known for being smart or thinking about things more deeply than not at all, but I saw clips when Kirsche was talking about it. He said some really dumb shit. Why is this guy popular? Was it that he just started streaming decades ago when it was literally only 20 other people doing it, and he just got big for no reason? Him and xqc make me think that getting big as an Internet entertainer is totally random.
I mean thanks to the algorithm, it legitimately can be. A 1 view video of yours from three years ago gets randomly shuffled into everyone's recommended, gains massive views and if you can capitalize on it, you've suddenly got thousands of subs and can monetize.
I'm not 100% on his rise to fame, but he use to make WoW guides for farming gold, soloing content, and some random videos like 13 years ago. His stream got big during Warlords of Draenor with him basically having the same persona hes been known for (pre-react content). He also did a lot of community events like viewer raids, Transmog contests, and mount offs. Those plus his "always go big dick" attitude, WoW's increasing popularity on Twitch during Legion/BFA, and streaming a lot back then got him where he is. I don't really get why people like him now when most of his streams are just reacting to videos.
Xqc was just a pro Overwatch player that was toxic and got banned from the Overwatch League for telling a gay guy to suck a dick. I have no idea why hes popular since I've never watched him and can't really understand him when I do see clips.

Did he fry his brain recently or something? I remember seeing clips in the past of him and they were ok, but these are unwatchable because of how smug he is and how it's all diversion and derailment to shift focus from the issue onto some random shit he can mock.
How much is he beholden to Twitch? I know he's super rich and a crazy hermit who's stingy or whatever, but does he have anything other than his channel and streaming on Twitch? I mean, Kirsche covered some of the new ToS, and you're not allowed to criticize Twitch staff or streamers who do this shit.
Thats kinda always been his schtick, It just came out in force as he moved away from playing games and into react shit. Tends to be how it goes, most people are retarded opinion wise in one way or another, but react streams bring those opinions and attitudes front and center cause there is nothing else to focus on.

He has something called One True King or OTK, which is some kind of streamer group and PC building company or something. I don't think it's the money so much as a subconscious fear of losing who he is if he loses his streaming
Good point, he probably had more to direct his autism when talking about games and their mechanics, but once he has to rely on wit alone over autism it all falls apart.
Unlike Pippa who is never obnoxious and always enjoyable.
his react clips on youtube farm a lot of views and he's cofounder of OTK, an esports group as well as mythic, a streamer network. he's pretty well established which is probably why he only does reactslop these days. I used to like his wow shenanigans even if he sucks at warrior lole. He has also critized twitch a lot in the past, I'm surprised he defends whores so much but then again his ex is basically a twitch prostitute so he's probably biased
He's always had that "I support sex workers, so fuck me" creep vibe when shit like this came up.
