Yeah Asmon went full shill. Now its possible that he is a dumbass who didnt foresee the ripple effects. But since his main platform is Twitch and twitch guys and gals tend to be VERY loyal to that platform, I'll just assume the worst and he was just acting as a hype man for the news.
