Frankly, I think the better route for enemy design is the HoloCure one: marines->hareines, gumis, lovebugs, deadbitos, lia lickers, etc. Plenty of grist there.

I like this idea and I think a lot can be done with it, but I'm curious if we're at the stage where everyone more or less agrees it's a good idea and we sort of know how to do it in theory but we're all otherwise just looking at our shoes and hoping someone will speak up. Having no actual talent of my own I put a little money into the pot to sweeten the deal for the cookbook but this seems like it requires a much more specialized skillset.

Is it at all possible for me to help move this along somehow?

There's a DM discussion group where people that are more proficient with this sort of thing are messaging eachother. Hopefully there is some work happening towards completing this mod.

There's already some sets of pixel art sprite replacements and a map being actively worked on in the Group DM, so yeah.

I'll reiterate tho in general - if anyone proficient in pixel art or texturework in general is either lurking here reading this, or if anyone reading this knows anyone else proficient in these skillsets and thinks they may be interested in contributing their time, obviously extra hands would be appreciated. I think some more pixel/textureartists specifically are likely a skillset we may need to find as the project progresses because currently we only have one pixelartist.
