As much as I'd like fishman to tell Offkai to fuck themselves and let them flounder, it's still probably the best bang for your buck con for vtuber advertising.
It's even better advertising if they get sabotaged again.
He's smart in that Phase is specifically covering the costs for the vendors, it's an easy PR move that gets their name out there while not coming across as too politically-charged since it's a bunch of independent businesses owned by vtuber fans who directly benefit, rather than the SJWs who want to murder pink rabbit and cherry fox.
On a personal level I wish Phase would stop supporting OffKai in general since it's the only way the problem will get sorted. I want these people to be punished for their petty malice; they're not gonna change anything if they're still getting rewarded for it year after year. It's just that realistically, low-effort PR is probably too good for the fishfag to pass up, and if I remove my own personal feelings from the situation, I get it.
It's worth noting that they're changing venues to the San Jose Convention Center, which is likely going to result in more booths and thus higher costs for Fish.

You can get one separate (I did for a time) but it's usually the same object/process to get as our driver's license (or passport if you're carrying that around the US as an American for whatever reason).

A government ID is not required to vote in California. And any push to require that is met with "You just want to stop minorities from voting!"Is this a bad thing?
So a vtuber con to have a meet and greet with a screen requires more proof of who you are and security than voting for people of government offices.
Also they announced this AFTER selling the meet&greet spots.
I like how its half and half between rightiecucks and leftiecucks complaining about needing ID, people being smug because it hurts vtuber they dont like (Pippa), and people pointing out the absurdity about how people get outraged over voting needing ID while needing one for meeting an anime girl you spent money to spend time with is somehow kosher because it prevents scalping
