We were getting funky back in Black Ops 1 with that emblem maker. You could tell someone was retarded when they just put a swastika while the creative ones made some crazy shit.

Eh, the shotguns and rifles are on par or stronger than the original, the pistols can go either way, but the Striker shotgun's weird spread sucks, and the TMP can't shoot straight with the new aiming system so it just blows. The new MP5 is almost OK, and the AR-15 is OK when you need to kill something quick, but eats all of your rifle ammo instantly. The shotguns especially got an upgrade, because they'll just cut some enemies in half, whereas they would've just sent them flying in the original. The magnums are weird, because in the original you really had a reason to choose between the Broken Butterfly and Killer 7, but in the remake the K7 is objectively better because it can actually shoot straight with the laser, and the huge crit chance can fuck up almost anything in the game in less than three shots.
you seem to be knowledegable about the game, what kind of guns should I use here then? I kinda just stuck with the Red9 through most of the gun and the Riot gun. Didn't bother with the magnums unless it was a boss fight, and the rifle was a last resort in most scenarios. I'm guessing since enemies are more tough that won't really fly on professional?

I use pretty much just the Red9, Riot gun, sometimes the semi auto rifle (even if it's retard strong, the scope quarters my framerate, well done Capcom), MP5, and the Killer7 if I'm not using the post-game meme guns. But if you really want the professional A+/S+ rank bullshit achievement, give Ashley the knight suit, get the infinite knife, and just use the infinite RPG. You won't get the handcannon, but you can just do a non speedrun "legit" playthrough of professional for that afterwards.

So yeah, my genuine advice for RE4R's Professional achievements and unlocks is: The mode sucks and makes the game less fun, and bullet sponges are shitty game design, just cheat lmao.

That was my feeling towards beating Jedi Survivor on Grandmaster. Damage modifiers (more incoming, less outgoing) is fucking dogshit design. It very quickly stopped being interesting and just became a pain in the ass, especially against the wildlife that had way too much HP and could 1-shot you most of the time. Even on New Game+ when you can turn on "realism" mode where enemies die quickly to your lightsaber, you also die very quickly to like 2-3 blaster bolts. All the boss fights are just fucking stupid on that mode because it's usually "1 hit to the next mid-fight cutscene and phase change, the 2nd hit kills them". All the dramatic flair of those 1v1 lightsaber fights disappear when you throw your lightsaber at the guy and he's done. Even just swinging at someone with a double-sided lightsaber kills them in that mode because occasionally they'll get tapped by the other side even when blocking.

Man, imagine...
Imagine if there was like a set of Star Wars games all about lightning quick, realistic lightsaber combat that actually let you use your force powers in more than just scripted ways or something, haha, wouldn't that be wild or something. Jedi Knight died for a pair of derivative as shit Sekiro clones that are so inoffensively 5/10 and safe that you can't even say anything positive or negative about them, aside from the animations being genuinely dogshit in both.

I enjoyed Survivor despite all the bullshit but I must admit, my Star Wars autism/nostalgia did a lot of carrying. I will say that whoever designed the Nar Shaddaa Streets level in Jedi Outcast deserves a bullet in the head, the whole first half of Jedi Outcast is porn for masochists. It's actually funny that the best lightsaber combat we've seen in video games in the past decade was the May 4th event in For Honor where everyone's weapons were turned into lightsabers.

So EA just announced they fired like 50 people working at Bioware, which is currently working on Dragon Age 4.
Apparently twitter is freaking out about it with the whole "how dare you fire 50 people, they are amazing people that have worked there for 20 years and should never lose their job!". I did a brief look into the twitter profiles of some of the people that were fired and quite a few of them are writers and they're your typical women/troons supporter/pronouns in bio. I even noticed one of them retweet an article that was attacking IGN for putting out their article about "Why is Baldur's Gate 3 making some devs upset?". So if you're wondering why Bioware and EA is getting talked about recently, it's because some of the shit tier devs still inhabiting the hollowed out corpse of Bioware got shaken loose after EA executives realized they're fucking shit at their job, which was likely prompted by BG3 exposing how god awful the majority of the devs at these big corps are and how these major corps are throwing a substantial amount of money at these fucks to get a garbage product.

Here's some tweets from some of the people let go to give you an idea of the type of people they are

It's amazing how people won't think about the greater context of the setting and just reduce it to "it's an attack on da brack peepol"

"My party members antagonize me ;("
Demons will fuck you in the ass no lube in DnD. A demon that interacts with you at all is either trying to use your skin and organs to gain more power or they're hoping you use your "human intellect" to get duped into a lifetime of servitude. Thing is, Demons are a known variable, Tieflings aren't. They could be victims trying to escape their heritage. They could also still be under their ancestor's thumb and are gonna kill you when you go to sleep on their orders. If you meet someone on the street that has a 20-30% higher chance of stabbing you in the throat than everyone else hostility is the most natural reaction.

"The druids are being meanies"
Tieflings intruded onto the fucking grove and not only brought goblins knocking but they lost their leader as well. Also being part unholy spawn from hell(see above) puts anyone on edge. Tweeter must be blind and deaf too because the locket stealing interaction is from a MERCENARY not a druid and the kid stole his DEAD MOTHER'S LOCKET. By the way news flash, not all druids are peace-pipe weed-smokers that'll suck you off at a moment's notice. Some druids are evil and if you explore more you can find evidence of their plots and machinations but that's too hard for someone who only explored the first 5% of the game and had to tweet mega racism.

"So much racism"
Then fucking LEAVE or KILL THEM. You don't owe them anything and the game gives you the freedom to walk away and let them all get slaughtered. Go live in the Underdark instead, the Deep gnomes and Myconids don't fucking care but I guess a living telepathic mushroom isn't fuckable enough for you. Karlach isn't locked out of joining your party but I wish she would because quite frankly a video game character is more principled than you. Yes she's getting massive tiefling hate but does she fucking cry about it? No she focuses on trying to save people and doing actual tangible good in the realm. Either grow the fuck up and understand even fantasy worlds can suck or do everyone a favor and don't play the game.

Oh boy racial politics in video games, my favourite. Imagine making the choice to play a devilspawn and then whining when people treat you like a devilspawn, what an unforeseen twist! It's almost as if there's a major question of nature vs nurture that is directly addressed in the game at one point; whether or not evil tendencies are ingrained on a racial level or if they are in fact learned. This doesn't necessarily apply to Tieflings however, since their heritage is significantly more manufactured and supernatural with an explicit tie to whatever devil/fiend lords over their bloodline. Racial analogues fall apart when Tieflings can be out sacrificing children to Asmodeus as a part of a blood pact their great grandmother made before getting a hot meat spear straight to the womb, and they don't get much say in it unless they want to just die. I've yet to see one black man go to court for petty crime and claim innocence because Mephistopheles has a contract on their soul.

It's good to see this guy's nowhere in the game but obviously has the entire thing pegged as DEFINITELY RACISM and has an amazingly poor understanding of what's going on in the camp because he's too busy looking for shit to be offended over than actually looking at the reasoning. Kagha's being manipulated by Shadow Druids, whose entire credo is that there is no balance between man and nature and that all non-Druids have no place in the wilds and will drive them out by any means necessary. It's not specifically targeted racism by any means, it's a blind and convenient hatred towards any outsider which just so happens to be a bunch of fiendfuckers. A group of fiendfuckers that have a number of questionable people among their ranks that aren't even important or particularly notable, but demonstrate that even as just civilians there's some sus shit they can say/do. I can't remember exactly what it was but Bex, a nobody woman in the camp whose dream is just to own a house in Baldur's Gate her and her partner can live in says something that made me stop for a sec and think "What the fuck did she say?" There's a thief network of kids living among them as well whose entire motivation is to rip off/scam/rob as many other refugees and visitors as they can, with nothing they can use the goods/money they try to purloin on due to the limited nature of the goods they have access to on the road as refugees. They steal simply because of greed than necessarily survival, it's sure as shit not going to do them any good until they hit Baldur's Gate and can maybe turn a profit, but until then they're literally parasites on the entire group of tieflings themselves. This group of thief kids lumps in with Arabella, the kid that tried to interrupt the corrupt ritual of the druids, calling her a parasite is literally accurate and Kagha's reaction is understandable for someone who is literally being Ratatouille'd by the three rats wandering around near her. They're wildshaped Druids, if you successfully prove Kagha's manipulation and point out how she's been driven to this madness, they shift back and you get to kill them, and Kagha repents for how she's acted and basically submits herself to judgement she deserves for everything she's been doing. I don't know the specific trigger for it, but it might have something to do with removing the Idol of Silvanus without clearing Kagha's corruption, but the grove can be cursed by Silvanus and end up filled with poison clouds as a punishment from their actual god for what they've been doing (presumably, I also personally killed the entire grove population as soon as I got there, so maybe just the mass death as well as the idol thing).

Crying about the guys at the gate is also pretty retard move, considering Remiel, Aradin and Barth aren't fucking druids, which would be amazingly clear if he'd read or listened to any dialogue at all or sought them out afterwards. They're adventurers coming through on a job that coincidentally overlapped with what ended up being a concern for the grove, and that was the goblin horde, which they then lead a scouting party back to their until-then-secret grove, the location of which is half the crux of their survival and whether to sell out their location is the linchpin off whether or not they survive overall. It's kind of natural to be a little hot-headed when your life is at risk, and similarly it doesn't matter the race of the kid if they're stealing an important sentimental item. You yourself can catch some of the thief kids in the act of trying to rob you and threaten to beat them as well yourself, even as a tiefling. Is that still racist then, because obviously it's racially motivated by them being differently coloured and not just degenerate pieces of shit preying on people for no gain?

I feel like there's more I could learn about Zevlor to get a better idea of the strength of his character and what he stands for, but even as the defacto leader of the tieflings dealing with the situation they're in, his inherent reaction to the whole situation he's facing is "We have to kill Kagha" and has no leniency on the matter as his personality is apparently leaning towards violence as a solution. Sure, Kagha's not leaving him much of a choice but if someone was really a morally upright person they would make more effort to argue the high road to the end and be more open to the idea of just doing their best to move on without aggression rather than come to the final verdict that they have to murder the political leader of a second faction sharing their living space. Now is Zevlor's inclination towards murder just a facet of his character, or is it because his devil blood primes him for it? That's part of the difficulty of quantifying this issue, simply because the fact there is objectively evil taint in his bloodline simply by the nature of being a fiendkin, it is unquestionable fact it could actually just be a dark influence he can't shed.

I don't know what companion it is he's whining about, but if it's Lae'zel he should unironically blow his brains out. Githyanki take it as a personal challenge to be the biggest fucking assholes in the astral sea to the point it defines their entire culture. In the words of the only Emperor I believe in, Suffer not the Xeno to live.
>That crowd: We want more MATURE story telling in video games

Seriously, I fucking hate these kinds of people. These fucks (if they've ever actually played a table top game) are too goddamn used to a soft DM who just plays fluff games, and aren't used to one actually playing by the damn rules and being true to the setting of the game. That's part of the reason they're suffering from the whiplash about this kinda stuff. It seems impossible to have a story with the entire thing being levels of grey morality, because these chucklefucks NEED a black and white morality or they lose their goddamn minds. Bad people aren't allowed to exist unless you have people specifically condemning them in the game. You aren't allowed to come to your own conclusions about how a situation played out, you need your decision reinforced by some NPC and be told what a good choice you made and get asspats for it. It's the reason why since 4e the system has gotten more and more homogenized and made 'friendly'. Like the removal of the classic alignment system, and the fact that the races have a typical moral alignment to them.

So who is gonna play AC6?
Absolutely I will, but the backlog has grown way too big and I'm trying to work through it as best as I can. It's not looking good bros.

Between this and Metaphor RE:Fantazio coming out next year, it's going to be good eating for us Fatlus bros. Now if we can just get some sort of announcement on the next Shin Megami Tensai or Persona mainline game I'd be totally ecstatic.

Edit:
I totally forgot, but with the expansion coming it it looks like CD Projekt Red have finally ironed out all of the major problems with Cyberpunk. All the major fixes are talked about in this trailer, and they're coming to the base game with no need to own the expansion:

Looks like it's finally time to get this game installed and give it a play. I'm genuinely excited to try it out now.

It's autistic ranting time!

See, they think they want more mature and dark storytelling but what they really want is edgy fagshit because the reality of facing something like grey-vs-grey morality, or ingrained systemic racism that goes beyond simple skin colour and often involves real and notable historical actions within the setting, definitive fact that good and evil are identifiable values that can be hardcoded into ones race. Tabletop games are hardly the cleanest and most sanitized sources of social grace, and some are much more on the nose with their racial allegories. As much as this one guy whines about "muh racism" against Tieflings being analogous to the Black Experience, I'd love to see his mind blow out his ass reading about the very real political shift in Shadowrun treating Orks as the new Ni‎gger with all the same stereotypes.

It's not good enough to just let these facets sit though. Despite the fact that you can easily ignore any part of lore or setting that you may want to on whatever grounds, I know there's been people like this making pushbacks on some TTRPGs settings and worlds because the spineless cunts can't just accept that a fantasy world might have some bad or outdated ideas present in certain segments of the population. There was a letter published through some third-party writer whose name I forget, but he was used as a mouthpiece by a(n anonymous?) minority to voice their discomfort with slavery themes present in parts of Pathfinder's setting of Golarion. Slavery which is only employed by one nation of the setting, Cheliax, who are the "evil asshole devil worshippers" of their setting, and the use of slaves being very on-brand and in line with similar sorts of master-and-follower relationships common in diabolic pacts. Slavery which, in a few places, is stated to not be something a GM should allow players to wontonly participate in and has only ever been shown as a bad practice of evil people, and is regularly resisted and combated by in-universe organizations like the Bellflower Network. Nah, strike it from the texts and banish it to the penis explosion chamber, it's a much better course of action to simply erase it from reality and pretend it's not real and doesn't exist than to utilize the medium as a way to explore a complicated and dark subject with the intent of rising over it and, honestly, achieving power fantasy catharsis over something representative of an unfair hardship. Worse is that Paizo capitulated on this front, in a similar way that they presented a mewling countenance in the materials for Agents of Edgewatch, an adventure path wherein the players are meant to be part of the guard corps of Absalom, where they gave alternative ideas for how to use the materials if the players happened to have irreconcilable issues with pretending to be law enforcement officers.

The increasing presence of various built-in or shoehorned mechanics or systems meant to serve as emergency exits for sackless bitches that would rather cower and hide from 'triggering content' only serves to demonstrate how no-dicked entertainment media is becoming with the mass pussification of humanity when someone needs a hard out mechanic in case someone says a no-no word and they need to go have a cry about it. It becomes increasingly more necessary to vet potential players various neuroses, psychoses, delusions and other mental illnesses to make sure the game doesn't fall apart the second you try to run anything more dark than another typical "dark evil person does cartoonishly bad things" story. In worlds where literal devils exist and make contracts with people for petty bullshit reasons and can demand the most fucked up kind of payments in return, you better not have anything more twisted than "I occasionally have to murder white, cis men in their mid 20s" because otherwise you might trigger half the table.

Alignment? Nah fuck it. The common player nowadays is too smoothbrained to consider something like obeying a broad scope of behavioural patterns when they can just flip-flop as much as they want and not have to face any kind of mechanical punishment for it. Fiddly as it was to track, no one wants to face the reality that maybe their "well-meaning, good-intentioned" farm boy background adventurer who for the last 3 months of sessions had been advocating such pasttimes as robbery, blackmail, extortion, trespassing, contract fraud, assault and conspiracy to commit murder might be actually evil in nature and as such would be affected by anything that harmed evil. There can't be any long-term repercussions for their actions, at least none that aren't narratively hooked to the grander story and is just a consequence of their own shitty actions.

I could whine forever about how much I hate modern soycuck players and fuck knows I have a lot of pent up frustration and anger to let out today all of a sudden but I'm already mentally exhausted and it's not even noon.

That's a thing I keep wondering about, I've only played 4e in tabletop, and 5e mostly through videogames. Why the do people keep saying that 4e is terrible and that you should just play 5e? I like playing martial classes. I like being able to do more than just charge > attack > pommel strike for more than half a playthrough. I like having fucking abilities to choose from so I can do cool shit. 5e feels like fighter is 90% passives, meanwhile casters get 10 if not more things they can do at level 3.

I know of the problems like having gold being too OP in 4e, but that's your DMs fucking fault for letting you buy the good stuff from some shitty village full of swineherds.

I think part of the problem with 4e was that it was designed to be kind of video game-y with the idea it would mesh with a proprietary virtual tabletop they were going to design so that it all ended up being more like a video game than something like foundry/roll20, but then, uh... the project manager was murdered by her SO and the rest of the project kind of... didn't happen.

No, I feel much the same way man. I think your analysis of "They don't want evil, they want edge" is spot on. I was having this discussion with the wife a few months ago where I mentioned I noticed a trend of Twitter/Tumblr/Soycuck minded people not letting evil people BE evil. In particular - I can't remember what piece of media it was - but I remember it was a giant group of people complaining that rape had been used as a narrative element in some show/game. And not only were they complaining that the act of the rape was allowed to occur, they were upset there wasn't any admonishment of the rape within the media. However, I remember the person who did the raping was unequivocally an evil person. So the simple fact "Bad person do bad thing" wasn't good enough to these viewers. They needed a dissertation talking about WHY it was bad and to regale the user with a lesson on why its bad. Fucking mongoloids.

On top of that, I've also noticed a trend where it's impossible to portray someone having done horrible acts for justifiable reasons. The thing where you go "Man, he sure did a lot of bad shit. But I completely understand the reason why they did that."

Two examples I can use to illustrate my point. One recent, one not.
Recent - Anyone who has played FF14 knows how great of a character Emet-Selch is. I consider him one of the greatest villains in Final Fantasy, if not a lot of video gaming. For anyone who doesn't know (and I'll spoil this for anyone who is interested in playing FF14 [spoilers for only through Shadowbringers])
although he starts the game as a leader of essentially nigh-invincible beings (similar to the Q) set on causing catastrophic disasters that kill untold amounts of people in your world, by the end of the expansion you can understand his motivations. For a very brief summary, the world you inhabit was actually split into 14 parts many millennia in the past. And you live on the 'main' part from which the others were copied. Emet was one of the leaders of the people who existed before the sundering. He had to witness everyone he loved have theirs souls ripped apart and split into 14 parts. He literally views everyone that is currently alive as malformed husks and mockeries of the people he once knew.

The reason he's causing the natural disasters is they are the catalyst needed to rejoin the parts of the split world back into the main world. He's just trying to return everything back to the way it was when he was an inhabitant of the world. And he doesn't care how many people he kills, because they're literally only 1/14th of a person to him. They're literally not-people, treated as insects. The fact they are split is the greater evil to him. A literal perfect case of moral relativism. So by the time everything is said and done, you get his motivations and most people will look at the circumstances and the choices he was given and think "Would I have really done any different had the same happened to me? How far would I go to bring back my friends, family, and everyone I loved?"

However, there is a giant faction of the FF14 player base who despise Emet and never allow themselves to understand his point of view. "Emet-selch is a genocidal monster", and that's as far as they get trying to analyze his motivations. I've witnessed these 'fans' literally get hostile seeing anyone discuss why they like him, and can understand his motivations. They seem completely unable to break out of a linear 'black/white' dichotomy of good and evil, and just never go beyond it.

Old example - I used to read a webcomic called "Dominic Deegan" during the early internet. Quality of the comic notwithstanding, one plot point I remember was interesting was when they were focusing on orc tribes. The orcs were analogous to Native Americans, where they had tribes each of which had very different cultures. So in it, you end up meeting two orcs through different story lines, and you find out they're 'married' to each other. However, they are on exceedingly bad terms with each other. When you find out the reason why, the author basically ended up creating a really fucked up trolly problem. The male orc was a visiting dignitary from one clan during his early teens and witnessed the girl orc's family get slaughtered due to a series of events outside his control. The host clan treated orphaned girls as basically worthless due to their heavily patriarchal structure, and were about to slaughter the girl as well. However, the visiting dignitary orc stopped the murder by claiming the young girl as his own. Under his own tribes traditions, he could get her out and at least allow her a life within his own tribe to grow up and move on with her life. However, the host clan's traditions demanded he 'make her his bride right then and there' in order to take ownership of her. So he was basically forced to rape the girl to save her life.

So like I said, fucked up trolly problem. Given the settings and its restrictions, what's morally worse? Allowing an innocent to get murdered when you absolutely have to power to save their life? But by saving their life, you're literally forced to rape her as per dogmatic religious and societal beliefs. Which is worse. And like, bad writing and ridiculous scenario aside it's at least an interesting thought experiment.

But no, everywhere you read all you see is the reductionist position "Rape becomes justified, trivialized, and defended tirelessly by Dominic against all detractors". All nuance stripped away. Just "Bad thing bad, how dare you try to justify it!"
Oh, damn, that looks absolutely kino. Definitely gonna have to keep an eye out for that.
I'm looking forward to it. I like the Persona formula, but I can see why people wouldn't want to play the games due to the focus on Japanese High School settings. Taking the JRPG formula with social/reputation aspects, and seeminly applying it to an isekai setting with reputation building with factions sounds absolutely fucking amazing.

Part of the real reason is the major diehard fans of D&D still live and die by the 3.5e rules. 4e is seen as the beginning of the end of their hobby where it keeps getting more and more watered down and having the edges sanded down to appeal to people who care less and less about the game itself and just want to be part of the aesthetic. And it doesn't matter there are other systems and settings that might suit normies more. They want to be part of the popular thing, even if popular thing has to be bastardized in order for normies to enjoy it.

Edit:
pretty sure alignment still exists and is just as irrelevant as ever. So much so you can't even Detect Alignment anymore at least not directly.
Don't forget they want to remove all racial modifiers too. Can't have inherent natural physical abilities, oh no.

Like the removal of the classic alignment system, and the fact that the races have a typical moral alignment to them.

ive played it several times the system is fine for campaigns or just short combats and the systems inbuilt mechanics punish people for being stupid not realizing their abilities combo with eachother and can combo BETWEEN MEMBERS I remember getting myself into a fucked position as the teams defender (to be fair we were all in a bad position due to an ambush) I was surrounded and out of defenses about to drop past zero and die to the many hits coming my way.

Bard says fuck that looks at her abilities looks at everyone elses. and in a teamwide effort shoves some enemies around and basically pulls me out from combat unscathed which gives me a turn to recoup that turn shifted the battle entirly as they once again move behind me and i turn into a literal glacier as we beat them back.

Everyone took one look at how attacking worked joked that 3.5 needed more wizards and started bashing it. Except the powers system makes it work really well as a teamplay game. as the story illustrates above my team worked together to pull my ass out of the fire allowing me to return the favor (Dwarf Warden of Winter if you know you know) it was good times and the story was poorly told but that was on the dm not the system.

EDIT: I forgot to make this point. If 4th edition was such a bad system why is Lancer superpopular with everyone who plays it.
