Gotta say though, I greatly appreciate Cover giving the announcement some color, instead of the same old black text on a white background.

Good job, Cover.
They could probably still go a little further though.
Here Cover, I did the next one for you. No need to pay me.

Yeah, I wouldn't rule out being tired of bureaucracy, since it's something that's probably got much worse as the company's grown. I don't care for "talent freedom" bullshit, but every scandal, legal issue, miscommunication etc. can push a company of Cover's size toward the opposite extreme, since every problem that arises brings new rules and regulations to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Even in a mostly positive working environment where everyone's operating in good faith, there's only so many times you can have an idea rejected or have a project that was 90% complete shelved because of a legal technicality before you start to wonder if it's all worth it.
I think people need to consider that a company could do everything “right” in the sense of being a nice workspace and people still leave because they are looking for other objectives in life that doesn't align with the corpo objectives. Nijisanji and small corpo fuck up has influenced us to see all of these events in some deontological "good/bad" dichotomy of evil corpo versus small talent.

Eventually, people are just looking for other things in life and both parties separates on good terms, is happened with Ame, Aqua hand will happen with Chloe. It is inevitable that not everyone will stay forever, and as long everything is done in good faith, like it happened in those cases, then things will be fine.

Who's in the lead for graduations (we'll include "Affiliates" in those) this year, Holo or Niji?
Holo has 6
- Mel
- A-chan
- Gamma
- Aqua
- Ame
- Chloe

Niji has 13
- Selen
- Pomu
- Da Wigga
- Hex
- Vivi
- Kunai
- Uiha
- Riksa
- Chihiro
- Momo
- Bonnivier
- Aki
- Naruse

Niji wins this year because they didn't lose any of their top earners compared to Hololive (Aqua and Chloe).

Proctorsleep curse is bugged, we always set it for froot then he kill entire corpos, kill hololivers, kill nijis but froot remain alive for no reason
Set it to Bettel, Froot has direct damage immunity, she can only be killed by splash damage. Bettel won't die though because he has the curse of death timer so any attacks won't affect him, it'll just bounce off and hit the nearest target which is Froot. It's a win-win.

I think the increase in graduations this far in was kind of inevitable really, since it's been long enough that the people who got into it during the boom are naturally going to start feeling like they've run their course and look for other options. This industry moves absurdly quickly and is pretty much unrecognisable from what it was three years ago for both better and worse. That filters people.

Is it time to start dooming? I don't know, talent graduations becoming more frequent now could mean there's a problem, but it could also just be because there's more talents in general now. The "differences in direction" trend is concerning but without knowing how the talents who're still there feel about these changes it's hard to tell if it really is just a subjective preference for the quieter days when the company was smaller, or if there are developing management issues.
Well put! IMHO, the added work behind the scenes because YAGOO wants to focus on the IP instead of the streamer probably turned off some Holos. Imagining jumping though extra autistic Jap bureaucracy hoops just to do some projects. Cover is maximizing their talent that then puts more pressure and workload on them. Remember that these vtubers are all-kinds of menhera so a small rejection would eat up a lot of their mindspace (see: Altare, Gura, Kronii). Only time would tell if this gamble by Cover would pay off. If by next year we see the OGs leaving because of "difference in direction" then it is understandable to hit that panic button and rrat accordingly.

Sad to see the Orca go, but it seems pretty understandable. One thing not discussed enough is that a lot of folks don't have the vocal endurance of someone like Korone. Talking as much as a streamer does is just too much for some folks, even if they're very good at it. I wish her the best in her next endeavors and thanks for the memories.

I don't think anything will ever be less impactful than gura's impending "graduation". If anyone even acts surprised I'm going to assume they are in marketing.

Please forgive the Liacon. Lia hasn't streamed in over 10 days and there's no Bitos on this forum for them to sexually assault.

I personally dont buy the "more work" "different direction" excuses. Chloe has done fuck all this year besides Holowitches which is literally most japanese dreams to be featured in an anime. There is also one less concert event this year (no summer fes). It is like saying Gura is graduating because she streams too often.

For example, polka has had 3 non-hololive concerts this year, 1 for AHAMO 1 for granblue fes, 1 for some hello kitty shit (and there might be even more I don't remember). Marine kept being brought out for kaigai concerts (e.g. Dreamhack Melbourne). Matsuri is literally everywhere despite having a 2nd idol career and a consistent streaming schedule. Fubuki and Marine hosting Hologoe despite having their own radio shows. Koyori also doing granblue fes despite her busy schedule. And however many shit Sora/Suisei/Calli/Miko does.

There is a pattern of a the same group of busy people taking up even more work, expressing there is nothing else in the world that they would like to do. While the "streamer-only" ones only streams. Yet every time one of these streamer-only graduate people cite "more concerts more works" like a gospel despite evidence pointing otherwise.

While it was pretty clear aqua wanted to do her own sololive, funded 100% by her to bypass the queue and got turned down, I don't think the same can be applied to chloe.

It could really be health related reason. But the more cynical me think it's income split disputes. For example: Chloe was the #1 superchatted for the 3 years she was in Hololive. She might have wanted 100% of the superchat cut or something completely different. They couldn't come to an agreement and thus no contract extensions. Contract disputes happens all the time in entertainment industry.

There is also also the social issue related to overworking when you are under NDA, you can't even talk with your friend / family about your work and you progressively losing them.

For Azki I don't think she will be leaving anytime soon unless she want more holidays, she got her Victor contract and her fame from her holo move and it's her only way to fund her indie projects (which is cool and all, but not much self sufficient when you have to fund several live concert per year).
Her CEO shtick is, like doki, only here for fiscal reason even though it's been a joke for her fans (she lately plan to do some "1on1 recruitment interview" and "fiscal work" stream)

Fauna has not been the same since her last trip to Japan
When was her last trip to Japan anyway? I'm pretty sure she was the only EN not in Japan for 5th Fes, no other talents talked about meeting up with her, and she streamed regularly up until days before the concert. She wasn't in NY for BD either.

I think it was December 2022 when Fauna Bae and Mumei had their drunk off collab, but I don't remember if that was the last time she went to Japan, I do believe that was the start of her "Puddle" arc though.

The problem wasn't in of itself that so many people left Nijisanji - Nijisanji has more than twice as many people as Hololive, so it stands to reason more people would leave - it's that Nijisanji treated its talents terribly while they were at the company and insisted on having them leave on the worst possible terms. Hololive lost major talents this year but their fanbases will stick around and support different talents within the company. Nijisanji lost talents and much of their audience with them.

I think she had one of the best models in holo. I'm hoping against hope that cover finds a way to fix this shit where it's more appealing for good talents to be a brand affiliate than a streamer. Fucking tired of having to adjust to new personalities.
