• EIEN Project's CEO, MOERI (eri), announces a hiatus of her Vtubing activities which started in 2020, explicitly citing her EIEN Project activities. (Archive)
• Her last stream is on 24 February 2023.

25 February 2023:

• Riifu Evergreen debuts alongside Kiki Lockheart, Kilia Kurayami, and Skye Shinryu as EIEN Project's first gen, Museia.
• Riifu's PLs, SoeASMR (exoeLUL) and Dude That's Wholesome/Lewd (depending on display name settings), are quickly identified; Scottish ASMRtists who sound like her are not common. Dude That's Lewd had 180k subs at the time. Another alias, Pwupster, was identified later.
  • Dude That's Lewd had a channel intended for Vtubing, Dude's Crusade. The channel was created in 2016, suggesting that the channel previously had another focus. In 2021 she was in an ARMA3 collab with Rimmy Downunder, also featuring Rye Project (Yuko Yurei's PL), Whiskey, and many others. Dude's Crusade has a highlight reel of the collab. In a community post around October 2022 she talks about having abandoned the channel some time prior, citing voice strain, and rebranding to a meme/manga reading channel (archive of community post). The most recent public video is from November 2022 (archive of date stamp, not the video itself).
  • I have no evidence any of these PLs announced a hiatus prior to Riifu's debut. In fact, the channels were updated while she was active as Riifu.
  • Trivia: Dude That's Lewd has collabed with Lemonleaf (Ceres Fauna's PL) and FallenShadow and was very open to collabs.
• In a monetisation celebration stream on 4 March, Kilia claims that the gen was active for 3 months pre-debut, and that EIEN paid for the debut covers and assets as well as the models and rigging.

Post-debut, Riifu established a reputation for sexual content that had no real peer in EN corpo Vtubing, as seen below in her members stream from approximately 23 March 2023.

In this members stream Riifu said that she was not previously a Vtuber, she did not think EIEN would give her the spot, and that EIEN had given her permission to "express herself" as long as she did not break TOS.
Her memberships were tiered such that gifted memberships would not give access to this content.
Riifu was also a workaholic, streaming daily, 2-3 times a day, with 7-8 hour streams included.

15 April 2023:

• EIEN Project issues a "Notice of Changes to Talent Riifu Evergreen's Scheduled Streams". (Archive)

  • "Management has decided that it is best for the Talent to take some time off after a rigorous schedule since the Talent's debut."
• Activity is to resume on 17 April.

There are leaked Discord screenshots of messages between Riifu and eri in this time period. Discord screenshots are easily faked, but a later, unrelated screencapture yab by Kiki Lockheart also showed eri in chat, showing that someone in EIEN's Discord uses that handle, validating the screenshots to some extent.

17 April 2023:

• Riifu has her comeback stream. She cries at the start, wonders if she can read her Maros (which are generally incredibly degenerate) and decides not to, and tries to brush off questions about her schedule or concern about her well-being.
• Of note, she hits all of the "bullet points to say during my comeback stream" in the Discord screenshots.
• Per /vt/, Riifu is only allowed to stream three times a week and speculation in the EIEN Discord is not allowed.

The statement by EIEN is worth posting directly in the thread itself, so I'll do it below. While it's about what you'd expect if you had any passing familiarity with business and hiring and firing procedures, we very rarely get a good look behind the curtain of vtuber corpos, and there's some interesting information here, especially if you want to know what happened to Riifu.

The story is about what you expect if you're ever seen an employee who doesn't perform up to standard, but has a chance to improve the quality of their work and behaviour. Repeated attempts to retrain and re-educate the employee, because retraining is much easier and quicker than getting a new employee, which still isn't guaranteed to be any good, and many areas require detailed evidence of performance management of an employee before they get fired. Unfortunately, none of these attempts to reeducate take, the attempts scale from casual and low-key prompting to increasingly overt warnings, until the company gives up and decides to cut their losses.

Still, there's some interesting information here and worth sharing.

It's interesting because EIEN is a case where a streamer got a bag and decided to become a boss now. I don't know if she knew anything about management before. There's still a chance those circumstances could lead to disaster later but if we take their announcements at face value, yes, they seem to have handled the situation quite professionally on their end.

as for the documentation Reads like "this is my big break i need to work hard" which leads into deteriorating mental health and comparing herself to the rest of her gen and then spiraling did not help she isolated herself from her other gen mates so was ignorant to their own struggles "why are they perfect why am i not like that"

being a coombaiter certainly didn't help in the long run. I was browsing the EIEN general when Riifu took leave initially and a theory was the EIEN/Moeri had analytical targets and Riifu wasn't posting the required 2x a week shorts. Amusing that she's just menhera instead.

Moeri reminds me of Tamaki and the gulf between "over sharing" and just putting a simple statement of termination continues. Tamaki basically said Lilith's gone and don't ask questions.

internet law is a hot field right now most law students can smell the winds changing and are learning to apply their degrees to online especially after semi major cases getting decent media coverage (Sterling despite his troonitude H3H3 hell even DSP) even cases that never actually had any legal action taken becoming interest cases .

And getting paid huge sums because of how little expertise there is out there currectly in about 4-5 years it will become an over saturated market.

Pertaining only to Riifu, she spoke for a couple hours turning it from a Monster Rancher stream to a zatsu mainly.
TL;DR
Skye was shocked of the outcome of Riifu's self-termination. A little sad and angry as Riifu had just left so abruptly, but doesn't hate her.

• Didn't hear/read the direct conversation between management and Riifu but heard the situation was going to work out. Then she quit then next day.
• Spoke about the initial contention was a contract issue of Steam game ownership which the company keeps. Skye had thought everyone had understood during the early phase to library share from their personal accounts to their work accounts.
• Management was to cover for game subscription ie: XBOX pass and asks their talents to limit purchases or not to requests too many game purchases to reduce expenses as EIEN wasn't an infinite money hole.
• Riifu had ranted on the company being thieves on their discord.
• Skye was surprised on the non-compete clause and re-read the contract and was confused when there weren't any. Skye had gotten clear authorization during signup to have monetized work outside of EIEN.
• Seems that Riifu didn't fully read or understand the contract she had signed.
• Skye brings up her experiences working with corporations/contracted work as Riifu could have negotiated and gotten a revision as a talent under a small company has more power than she thinks.

• She had childhood emotional neglect from her parents being the trophy child and/or treated like a maid. This made her closed off in her teens and didn't open up until she had more freedom during college.

Late thoughts:

MOERI and Skye have said there is no non-compete clause in the talent contracts, and that is consistent with Riifu's own activity on her PLs when she was active as Riifu. More pertinently, MOERI and Skye can't explicitly lie about this, as that would give Riifu legal ammo (whether or not she had any to begin with).

Riifu has never explicitly said she is under a non-compete, but her actions since leaving EIEN strongly suggested it. Riifu has a motive to lie (playing the victim). But if she is lying (i.e. creating the impression that there are legal reasons she's not allowed to stream, while conscious that no such reasons exist), she's chosen an incredibly convoluted method of doing so (scheduling and then cancelling the watchalong on her channel, using a burner Discord and telling someone else to stream in it) that has no immediate monetary or attention benefit. A Patreon for "getting back on my feet" or whatever would have been simpler.

Other benefits to this method may exist. Or Riifu may genuinely believe that she can't stream normally for whatever reason. If the /vt/ post about Dude's Crusade is to be believed, Riifu had a Patreon-exclusive Discord some years ago that she nuked, so she does have a paranoid streak.
