I originally posted this tweet just as a reaction to the news but now that's she's deleted this and rereading nows brings up the question:
Did she actually turn down a spot at cover instead of anycolor?

For context, Grimmi had announced 2024-02-05 that she intended to graduate 2024-03-03, but cancelled her graduation 2024-02-14. Note Shondo's reaction, most strikingly "grimmi is 100,000 times too good for _____". At the time, most assumed that Grimmi had turned down a spot from Anycolor, as the Black Screen Stream happened on 2024-02-14. However, Grimmi claimed in her stream on that day that it was unrelated to events "today".

Note also that 3/4 of Justice graduated their PLs on 2024-03-10, and that there are four of them instead of five.

IF true, the next speculative step is that Grimmi (and Shondo) got their cold feet from Fauna. If that is true, it follows that Fauna was already badly strained no later than February. But note that Fauna had been talking about future content as late as the end of August.

Like Coco's graduation was so early into me watching vtubers it felt unique and optimistic even if sad, and after she left I soon got people like Fauna to fill the void. It's just too soon, not her first. Yet it was a common wish for Kiara to be honest with Mint about both the good and bad of Holo, back when Mint first graduated. If that can be said within reason, so can this.

I think its interesting, but the Niji rrat has some cheese too. Niji's Denuath wave debuted in late May, same month as their first wave, Lazulight, both Pomu and Elira's PLs retired as late as March to debut on May, so Grimmi having the same timeframe wouldnt be that much of a stretch. If the Denuath PLs also retired on March then it would be a pattern. I think ill go check. But i dont think many of their PLs are known besides /vt/ trying to groom twisty on hers

Grimmi ungraduating on the 15th of Feb also would give Niji half a month or change to find another debutee that was open to fucking off by early March or later

Edit: on a cursory glance the most i can find of a Denuath PL "retiring" was Twisty DFE-ing by February of this year judging by these Hololist comments
Other Niji talents like Aster iirc did similar things, but Twisty is controversial so it could've been unrelated
