Elira being a Fat Whore (and the Fish too to be honest) aside Lazu was easily the most note they got outside of the home/fujo gooner market (don't do it don't numberfag me) good song decent talent (untill you realize at least one of them is a whore and two of them are assholes with some overlap) then Obsidia came and because of an excellent gimmick (these two talents are related) it drew in lazu fans to the new blood

I legit wonder how the world would be different if Selen was "sisters" with Pomu instead. niji three times its current size how horrifying.


That being said the cracks were forming. The Fish was always retarded and it was becoming increasingly hard to ignore genuinely malicious (i could mention a specific collab but fuck it viewers choice) Elira and Selen NEVER COLLABING directly was doing more harm then good Petra fucking off for collage (I think) and Rosemi keeping to herself (not that I blame her) made it pretty obvious that something was up

I would like to note that even before Selen's Negligible departure Lazulight were dropping like flies. The Fish was being openly mocked and avoided (by sane non gooner viewers anyway) and Elira while surviving did not escape unscathed from being forced to collab with selen where everyone could see how off it felt (though some did put that on selen which is fair without context I suppose)

This is coming from absolute ignorance since I stopped following nijiEN closely since Pomu left.

I wonder if they have another source of income in streaming besides what they regularly do.

If viewership won't grow and superchats won't increase then it would be expected from them to stream less and less like what the TTT girls did.

But if they still stream to those low numbers then the people that are watching are the most loyal turbofans and might give them money outside of what youtube donations can see. Like private streams for the whales or discord private rooms or whatever, like Finana did that one time.

We weren't optimistic about corpo chuuba income in the first place, now we know for certain that even rich kurosanji subtract assets cost from talents cut. Some small jap corpos do the same, but also give talents 20-30% cut from youtube and nothing from merch.

Because if I was Nijisanji and I'm seeing the viewership stagnating I know I will never have my own EN Suisei so, since I'm nijisanji and I'm evil, I'd grab my biggest superchatters and include them in a super sekkrit r18 club with NDAs to bypass the youtube cut and make the chubas stream exclusive yabai content for them and somehow expect it doesn't get leaked and the twisty leak thing might be a little peek

We also know from some Livers (and many other Vtubers back this claim up in general) that Vod Views/passive viewers are just as valuable than live CCV, sometimes even more because it persists past the actual stream. So they do infact have other jobs or incomes, some more famously than others, but low numbers doesn't mean too much other than numberfagging, because streaming to 100+ on YT alone, with good CTR, is still decent money.

why would they need to go through with incredibly PR harming plans when they can just coast by with the seemingly low overhead they have and still acceptable revenue from their whales. Or just downsizing all events.

just want to add to this. Hololive probably has several internal ways talents supplement their income or at least covers some of the expenses to keep things smooth I think Phase and even Vshojo also do this to a much lesser degree
