Someone on /r/kurosanji said that Ver and especially Ryoma talked about their Niji Income in members streams. I can't confirm what was claimed since I am not a member of either, but I don't think it's unbelievable.

I don't remember what the definitive source of the 2% figure was. I don't think it was a joke like this guy claims, but I do also don't think it's as concrete as people like to believe, and the actual cut could be much higher and likely varies by merch type. What I never really understood with the 2% claim was if it is 2% of revenue or 2% of profits, because 2% of revenue for a lower margin item might not be too bad in the end.
The only thing the leaked contract says for merch is that the percentage is determined in a separate discussion between the liver and Nijisanji, which, like I said, will probably vary depending on merch type, with digital merch like voice packs skewing higher while physical merch skews lower, maybe even approaching the 2% mark.

As for the superchats, that is explicitly stated in the contract. 50% of whatever YouTube sends to Anycolor goes to the liver, which usually would be 35%, but I could see Anycolor having a special deal with YouTube that would make the cut of the Livers 40%.

The most interesting thing is that Ryoma seems to get more from merch than superchats and (presumably) members, by some margin as well apparently. Now granted, that is not a high bar to clear in Ryoma's case, but I would think that the split between merch and YouTube revenue scales at least to some point for the bigger talents.
For example, I don't think Scarle is making more from merch than she does from supas, but I could believe people like Vox, Elira, Rosemi, Finana, etc. making more from merch than whatever YouTube revenue they get.

Its important to keep in mind that Niji is primarily a merch company probably earns 3/4 of their income from it. And that Ryoma makes very little from donations and memberships.

I think its been pretty consistently said that voice packs are the thing that gives them the biggest cut, so if you low ball it and say they get 60% he would only need to sell $11k worth of voice packs to pass it without even counting merch. The % could easily be way higher, considering this type of merch is basically free besides the art and could be Niji's way of appearing generous when compared to the merch cut.

EN earned a rounded 4500 million yen ($31 mill in USD) in 2023 from merch. That's an absolute minimum of $310,000 a year that went to the livers if the 1% is true. Assuming they all earned evenly, you could estimate they get $12k each out of it. Very unlikely Ryoma gets that many merch sales, but again he's only earning about $6000 yearly, so if that number is even close the voice packs and merch can easily out earn his streams.

On the other side of it, Mysta was part of Luxiem and all of them likely earned at least a million just from stream revenue. His perspective of a reasonable merch cut and merch earnings is completely different from Ryoma. To him, getting $12k a year from merch is basically nothing against the million from streams and could explain why he was so pissed about it.

Isn't he from the UK? I know Kuro married into an Indian family, but that's way after his stint as Mysta. I don't think explaining himself was ever a problem. English is his first language. His problem was being a woman.

What loss? Nijisanji's reasoning is that those merches are desinged by Nijisanji and they fronted the cost. So Niji livers didn't lose any money for that. Mogu/Twisty might be at a loss because they don't stream and had to pay the debut debt. But I believe they made more than enough to cover that.

I believe it first came from the purplefag, claiming he has inside sources and it's consistent across multiple people he interviewed, it's "1-3% depending on merch types and 2% on average". Then Kson weighed in, making his claim seemed more legit (though we do not know if she was just talking shit) and then she dropped the 50% numbers on Hololive.
Then Mysta Rias had a crash out live where she said she earned jack all from merches, went on a rant for 5 minutes and ended up revealing she earned 1% from them. I believe this is what the redditor mean by "it was a joke", Mysta Rias even carefully added the "I wish I was joking" to support the redditor theory.
Actually now that I reviewed the evidences, the actual figure is 1% and not 2% lmao. Multiple livers had already came out publicly and said buying voicepack is the best way to support your oshi.
Note that the 1% figure is old number from when Mysta Rias was still active, it could have changed by now.

The redditor said "40% AFTER all cuts" even under his claims. Youtube don't offer special deals. They take 30%, if the redditor claims is true, then Nijisanji takes 42% and the liver takes 28%. I will assume the redditor included apple playstore cut when he said "all cuts".
Someone like Scarle should also be negotiating for a better SC cut, seeing how much she made from it. If she hasn't then she's a dumbass.

Yes I do believe Rosemi earned more than $5,000 in merch a year. You are correct on this one. But the 1-2% figure was always about Nijisanji ripping off their talents and never about poor shaming the livers. We know Selen burnt $200k a year and Mysta made off like a million dollar or st. They both wasted them all but that's completely on them.

The really worrying bit is if Ryoma said that Ad Revenue is "irrelevant". While he might not be making a lot, it's not a trivial amount of revenue. Which probably means the streamer is seeing almost none of it. That just causes more questions.

As for the merch cut, I'm guessing that the numbers were got were correct but the context and escalators matter. Anycolor is exactly the type of company that you don't make anything from the merch until you're the biggest seller. Think 5% through 5k units then 25-30% over 5k. That type of structure, which, of course, really encourages members to either go all-in on trying to sell merch or just not bother.

We're eventually going to get information on the penthouses and expenses Riku and his top buddies are putting on the company accounts while the streamers had been fighting over the scraps.

In most (but not all) states, you need to have gone to law school before taking the bar exam. If you pass, you can apply for bar membership, pass a background check (and possibly a character & fitness board review if there are issues), pay your dues and obtain insurance, and then you can hold yourself out as an attorney. You can work for an attorney without having passed the bar, and firms may give job offers contingent on later passing the bar. "Finishing schooling" could mean that he's doing bar review stuff, it's around the right time of year for that.
