Mods should be direct, if they fear a YAB they should tell a streamer to be careful. Otherwise they come off as dictating a streamers efforts, which is something they absolutely should not do.

I don't disagree, but I also think they should be paying the mods if they're actually supposed to advise and wrangle the talent. It just starts to seem stupid that "some guy from discord" is going to have better judgment then the streamer.

I don't think there's inherently a problem with mods giving a second opinion on things happening in the stream, but she should probably just keep the mod chat open on the Colress monitor and occasionally glance at that, rather than have them essentially scolding her publicly. Having these disagreements on the stream itself could rile up the stream chat more than usual.

Unfortunately the other side of the coin is that some people get a little too comfortable talking about the topic and now you have MAPs on social media trying weasle their way into normality by saying that age doesn't matter and other really predatory shit, so it's really no surprise nobody wants to lessen the stigma on pedophilia.

But yeah, bringing that topic up on stream where you can word something badly and it WILL be taken out of context to make you look bad, it's usually a terrible idea.

I think the issue is this can has been kicked down the road for far to long. The sort of social reconstruction needed for people to look at someone admitting to being a pedophile WITHOUT instantly associating that with child molester instead of someone who needs help would take generations. But because its a hard subject to bring up without people freaking out or instantly labeling you as a would be pedo yourself no one wants to.
