If you all would permit me to write an extremely autistic essay fit for this thread..... Ah where to begin.
Now I did find the last 50 pages genuinely fun from an outsiders perspective, as there seems to be a lot of what ifs and don't do that's thrown in. But there are a lot of aspects to vtubing and general internet culture explained, displayed and talked about. But these pieces were not properly put together during the live posting segment.
Now denizens of VT, and even here will probably say what I am about to say is extremely black pilled. But hey if Proctor is the Doomer Groomer who am I but the Doomer Boomer (that joke didn't even work in my head to be honest).
The one principle missed last night was never trust someone online. That goes for anyone of us. Trusting someone in person can be a bad idea. And while we have Hexa's prior accounts, and while she might be a trainwreck. Those are still what she wants us to show, or what she allows herself to show.
Even in a mental breakdown the mind is a curious thing. You can trick yourself into believing things, you can trick yourselves into saying things. While she broke containment with the homeland sperging, who's really to say that was just something at the time she didn't feel like hiding as maybe to her in the state she was in she might have felt it counter intuitive to the opportunity presented by flashing VT on the screen. Even though it was a bad idea, I'm not going to say that it was a barriers off pity party. It might have been, but at the same time she was benefiting monetarily at the time.
Another point regarding vtubing as a whole, or even streamers. The whole boyfriend thing, how could she be in this state if she had one, maybe she is because of a breakup. We already have Wew's estimation of vtubers with partners. Who is really to say she was posting that before, and she knows deleting that info would draw attention to it so she just stopped talking about her boyfriend?
That aspect also coincides with another point brought up during the live posting. Women seem to have themselves entangled in 400 pounds of drama that we as viewers don't know about. And stuff that a lot of men wouldn't care about. If they can hide all that they can hide other stuff too. And that applies to all streamers. This is their mask, and even if they are appearing to break down, the mask still prevents stuff from leaking out.
I am reminded of who was it Meruru? I don't know that Tsunderia girl who had a drunk breakdown awhile ago. She could have gone completely mask off on the company, named names and gave examples. But she did not.
The internet is a mask for all of us. You can make assumptions, but without hard evidence I would advise against jumping to conclusions. As JMForte and Pipkun said, it might have all been a bit, a miscalculated one. But one nonetheless.
