You are looking at it the wrong way. Gigi is more entertaining and has more viewers yes, easily 10 times that of scarle.I really don’t get it either, its lewdposting and yapping. And imo from one stream I tuned into, it was very boring yapping. Lewdish and fujo simping yapping. I don’t get the appeal, I watch yappers like Gigi but she has more topics and is way more entertaining.
What scarle does is having more oilers, a.k.a a few individuals who spent dozen of thousands on her.
She has like 500ccv, if say she made $150k off of both twitch and streamelements donation (i didnt look at the stream elements one). And rule of thumbs is only a few percent of watchers ever donate.
Tl;dr: coomers
You nerds are thinking way too much about this. From the way they are selling this (full collection instead of card packs). It is a 1 and done project. You will never hear about it from them again. Before making any sweeping revisions to the game, there should be extensive playtesting - ideally in a digital format, to minimize production cost of prototype product. Not only that, but the testing group must contain people that won't just be yes-men, and they need to have at least a fundamental understanding of why the current top TCGs are popular. This also means playing those TCGs, because nothing beats first-hand experience.
If they want to keep the whole "Lose Your VCard (lol get it guys)" mechanic in some fashion, sure, they could do so - in content that they, themselves produce. Stream matches against each other where all parties ante up their cards, fuel the clickbait-driven algorithm with "I Won/Lost My Most Expensive Card" video titles (and similar variations), and it's practically an IRL anime tournament arc that creates itself. Boom, you turn the early design decisions into a win for everyone involved. You could also have community streams of "building the game together", to further help refine the mechanics while also fostering consumer trust in the future of the product.
It's an incredible amount of work, but turn that work into content, and there are still many ways forward to salvage the game!
They think it is quick cash grab, treating this like an nft project. That's it. Most of the people featured (if not all) has never held a yugioh card in their life.
