Guessing the algorythm is pushing it similar to how it did Shorts but without the masside ad cut that shorts had. In shorts you could get a video with 1M views that only made about $20 in ad revenue. I would assume that these vertical streams get boosted (they are trying to appeal to the mobile crowd which is massive with zoomers and JP/China) and they get full benefit from the ads (especially since people dont have adblockers on their phones) and the content itself can later be cut more easily for Shorts which tend to help you boost your channel numbers.

Sub numbers are not bad but at the same time they could be better. Most of those numbers are shared from the same audience. You want people to grow on their own and develop their own audience. They are only kneecapping themselves and they will run into the same problem the Mythos girls ran into that when they all were streaming at the same time their numbers were cut by 2/3.
