"My mom bought uh, I guess it's a dead pig; She bought a dead pig and butchered it herself... it took her like 3 days. My mom is like a survival mother, she likes doing things herself. She got meat's worth for like 2 or 3 months, I don't know, maybe even more, she's been eating it for a while and has a lot of leftovers frozen. So the schnitzel that she gave me was made, by the... meat of the pig that she butchered herself, I felt a bit weird lol"Takanashi Kiara
Yeah guys, make sure you volunteer your time if you want the actual Offkai staff to not bar your favorite vtubers, hire openly racist people, or to just do the bare fucking minimum.
Would it be preferable to see Offkai underperform or outperform compared to last year?
On one hand, underperforming might lead to staff reverting to banning controversial vtubers again by using the bad results as proof they were right; but, it could also lead to reshuffling the whole organisation from a clean slate.
On the other hand, outperforming might just maintain the status quo.
I guess the question boils down to whether you are satisfied with how things are enough or want to risk making a change and whether you think that risk is likely or not.
I hope it goes well and Phase pulls out anyway to start their own club with menheras and blackjack.
How would you guys imagine an alternative? Professional behavior and not hiring assertive spergs would be one necessary change, but how do you vet for that?
Edit: good point, their success would just make it more okay to be shitty

I will pick the boring answer and say: Nothing Ever Happens
Offkai continues with minor hiccups and spergouts that get brought up every year with no change.
I hope this becomes a poorly-aged post to look back on with laughter.

You are absolutely correct though. Because yes nothing will happen because just loosing one corpo, while currently in good standing, can be ignored cause it's just one and is unlikely to make a stink about it, and even if Sakana does decide to make a stink you will likely have a majority of people saying good because of their own politics. Just look at the ones that said it was a good thing Kirsche was barred from doing a panel, while a large indie, is in bad standing because "my right wing" we see it even here.
I think the con got past the line of "will crumble at the drop of a hat" and reached a point in which they can coast on for years doing the bare minimum. As much as people complain the average congoer will still go to it and con vendors don't really have the luxury of skipping cons. The only 2 ways offkai actually eats shit and dies is if they start embezzling money or a direct competitor rises up and it's far better. Both are highly unlikely unfortunately.
Fishman I still believe in phasecon do it for the lols

I think a con solely about Phase would be a mistake, phase isn't big enough to compete with a con pulling vshojo members, Large twitch indies and HoloEN. A better idea would be to establish a brand separate from phase under a central management entity/company and then have that brand organize a neutral con. Of course it would be biased towards phase, but you can entice other people away from offkai if it isn't blatantly obvious.

There will probably be an awkward call between offkai & phase to hash out these issues now they're public. But overall yeah, nothing will happen, Phase isn't going to pass on running a pop-up merch shop at the largest gathering of vtubing fans in the US over minor politcal sperging.

While I agree nothing will happen, I'll disagree with this just being a minor political sperging when they are actively trying to sabotage two talents for even dumber reason. It might come to be just not attending next year to not deal with bullshit again.
For any sektur enthusiasts, Z grade sekturite Perspicacity is currently streaming with Squire checking out Offkai 2025 and making plans for a live Gator hunt with possibly Ralph getting an invite.
I have not thought about this in a while but I think the rules say 'you can make a profit so long as it's reinvested back into the foundation'. But someone who knows what they're talking about can answer that. Either way, I think going after Offkai in any proactive manner is retarded, no matter the justification. I'd rather direct those energies towards founding a non-pozzed rival.
