Hololive has been woke from the start if people really want to consider non-hetero sexualities as woke. If your woke radar beeps that early already, then yeah Hololive is woke. If you consider asexual people existing and confirming they do exist a normal fact of life like a normie does, then that doesn't make Hololive or Gigi woke.
The guys post is about refusing or not wanting to hear or accept a part of the streamers personality. She just said ”this is what I am". There was no rallying for LGBT rights, there is no "Ace people are really mistreated" or whatever other campaign.

"Woke" is intersectional feminism or race Marxism (it's the same White Supremacist religion in the end, but it just depends on the outcropping), but what Gigi did was get a little too close to the truly deranged. Normalizing language that makes pathological normal human interaction sets is always a terrible idea. She's now going to have to cull the fanbase in the near future because these idiots understand nothing but their own insanity.
It isn't really anything about her not looking to be in a relationship right now that's the issue. It's just this process is always the same. Unless they completely lack libido (which in itself is super rare, it comes with your hormones) I'll always read it as some kind of flavored label to fit in those groups or as a fat/ugly individual (regardless of gender) that couldn't strike or never met someone irl who they felt attracted to -including the possibility of ridiculous standards built from years of exposition to plastic love, be it kpop or anime.
So yeah, I'll call it bullshit unless shown enough evidence.

Having a PL doesnt always mean the PL is the "real personality" and the Hololive one is just an act. Now that she has a bigger core fanbase that will support her no matter what, she doesnt have to play and cater towards the smallest common denominator as much and her paycheck will survive alienating a few people by being herself more. Alienating people she previously could not afford to put off.
The thing is, Gigi didn't make a big deal of this. She announced that in a random superchat reading stream, streams usually only the core fanbase watch and then did a follow-up members post. She did not go out of her way to make this bigger than it is. Because its not a big deal.
The fanbase, both pro coming out and against are making this a much bigger deal than Gigi herself ever did. She is not catering towards anyone else but her own, already existing fanbase. The whole message is addressed to people who already watch her and she is rewarding them with honesty and opening up a bit. Other people are carrying this outwards, but you cant say all that is Gigis intention.
If someone tells Gigi not to eat at McDonald's and she acts on it, it'll probably be by using double hash brown assets for an entire stream, not because she cares about the politics, but just because it would be funny.
