The part he and others like him miss is that these posts and articles trying to sympathy-bait about these paedophilic feelings the writer was born with and can't help is the context of them disclosing it. These are not conversations with a therapist, they are not self-reports to a service like Stop It Now, they are not even messages to a trusted friend beginning with "I've had some uncomfortable thoughts lately that are scaring me"; they're making it public to farm sympathetic responses in an attempt to feel better about themselves. The only thing stopping these people from actually having sex with a child is the lingering guilt sitting on their conscience, and they write these posts publicly hoping enough people will validate their urges to make that guilt go away.

I think the argument Nolan is trying to make, but is too retarded to articulate, is "having bad thoughts about children is not the same as attempting to act upon those bad thoughts." What Nolan misses is that articles like the one he's arguing over attempt to destigmatize paedophilia, and I think there are bad motives behind these destigmatization attempts.

Nolan is easily-swayed by arguments of empathy towards other people, no matter how disingenuous those arguments are (common problem for left-leaning people). I don't think he is a paedophile though. Nolan is incapable of keeping secrets and has previously admitted to all sorts of heinous stuff previously. He's also hornyposted about plenty of adult women that unambiguously look like mature, adult women. There are some signs I consider concerning, like the cunnyposting and liking My Little Pony, and being a retard while attempting to say anything about paedophilia other than "woodchipper" does him no favours. I wouldn't want him babysitting any kids either. I'm not ready to throw around hard accusations yet.

I hope this all is not just me being overly optimistic.
