There are in most places, it's administrative fine/arrest/works. Gotta do linguistic expertise to decide if it was hate speech or not though. But with him being vtuber under foreign corpo - zero chances of accountability. No one will bother going inernational for small administrative shit.

Almost definitely not hate speech. I know we're all out for blood, but be reasonable people. I see people say "If he said that about any other race he'd be ceremonially shot in the street", and though It may be true that he might get more shit for it... People do say stuff like that about other races and are fine, at least legally. He said white people can't cook for god's sake, not that they should be executed. It's racist but not hate speech, not even in the socialist republic of Canada, definitely not in New York (where Uki lives as far as I know).

Also I find it incredibly funny that the guy who posted Uki's tweet on the Niji reddit has himself been racist towards Chinese people, although much more overt. Which is crazy when he's coming to the support of a Chinese woman.

Your taking one of the minor things he said and trying to make it for everything he he said. There is a ton of clips actually of him actually talking badly of white people. Like take the white people kissing he said that they always look in pain when they do it. The tweet is also pretty minor but he has a pattern of behavior of this.

I didn't try to make it look like that's all he said, but going through at least that one reddit comment, all of it is on that sort of level. Also I would say that "White people can't cook" and "White people can't Kiss/look silly when they do" is very much the same flavour of "benign" racism.

This is assuming Uki is in the US. Canada, that doesn't have the first amendment, has made, passed, and gone after people for hate speech laws.

Edit: just to be clear there is probably never going to be a lawsuit against nijisanji for any of this shit. Does not mean we shouldnt name and shame them. Which for the Japanese shaming is far worse for them.
