I'm approaching this from a different angle. I think Niji is going to be downsizing EN and getting rid of "underperforming" talents. Aster gets no views and no money, so Niji will be the ones getting rid of him, he won't have a say in it.


Kotoka is the slam dunk, she hasn't streamed for over two months. Other than that I think it's going to mostly follow contract renewals being declined: I'm not sure when the different gens signed on but IMO it's going to progress wave by wave.

This might be a bit.. shallow as a comment, but outside of a couple of like 3 of the men: who ISN'T underperforming exactly? Last I thought we knew everyone in the branch except like 3 people are almost worse than random indies. This is why I just assumed they'll fold it into one overall global "branch" at some point. Most the newbies are eating shit, the old guard/ogs are slinking away, and everyone is basically just waiting for anyone still likeable to peace out. So yeah I dunno.

Nevermind, i thought it looked like a mouse when it was aimed at the underhem of her dress but the artifacting and movement just made it smudgey and barely triangular to me

Most of the guys are doing decent financially, which is the big takeaway here. "Underperforming" compared to indies isn't that big of a deal, Niji doesn't care about non-corpo western Vtubers or even their CCV to some extent. They do care about income though, and on that front the girls are much much worse. The guys have been mostly unaffected by the recent drama in terms of income, I actually went into detail about it in a previous longpost about superchat income. Yeah profits are down compared to a year ago but some of the newer guys like Hex and Vantablack have still been successful financially, Ike streamed for valentines a day after the black screen video and had one of his highest grossing streams, etc. Clawmark has made more than Vivi and Kunai put together (granted, he's being propped up by constant clique-ish off-collabs out of nowhere. He also has made more than Wilson so far). The only girl who makes as much as the guys do is Scarle.

TL;DR: The demise of the Male Nijis is much less likely. They make decent money and aren't a complete writeoff just yet, with a couple of notable exceptions. The girls are on the chopping block because they are being outperformed across the board.

EDIT: And apparently they're still second in CCV overall. Corporate deaths are a slow, dragged out affair. Niji is going to take a while to bleed out.

Well I knew it would be a slow bleed but fair enough that most are still holding out. I knew it was pretty much given the women were "negligible" compared to the guys. However that's on me for forgetting basically all the guys are still allowed on the boat so far. For whatever reason I swore a couple were trailing a bit harder. Might be remembering some of the numbers that got thrown around in here wrong and/or relating them to the wrong people.
