There are tons of channels that have a lot of subs but no views because they had one good video and never asked what made that video successful. You can argue luck is hitting on something by chance, but you won't be successful unless you can capture that thing and continue on with the effort. Being banned sucks, but plenty of people got banned and still made it big.

One thing I hate about Youtube is they killed the sort by oldest feature. It makes it harder to see where a channel started and how they progressed.

This whole luck spiel is just survivorship bias. There's a million dudes who work just as hard and smart or more than some of the extremely successful content creators, and yet they still get pretty much nowhere. And she doesn't realize this because you never hear about this people, so you can't compare.

Not saying it's all luck, talent and smarts definitely matter a lot, but luck is still way more of a factor than she thinks it is.

Hard disagree with her whole luck thing. I think luck is a huge factor but at the same time the more shit you put out and you being smart about it means you will get more chances to hit that lucky break.
