From one ugly person to another, it is entirely likely that she lost the genetic lottery in enough places that she can very much be considered as such. In which case, constantly calling her "cute" or "beautiful" would have a drastically opposite effect than intended. Either way, probably not a good idea to focus on looks so much, in this current mental state.

It's hard to know how seriously to take Pippa on her appearance. She lacks self-confidence outside of streaming, but she also doesn't shower for extended periods, doesn't visit the hairdresser, and doesn't like to dress up and buys cheap and unflattering clothes. If Pippa put some time and money into her appearance, with the help of a more fashionable coworker or friend, I think she would rate her appearance much higher.
