Imagine being Henri's father. You've worked hard your whole life to become successful by the standards of people in the Philipines, made sure to provide for your son and wife, and you end up with someone like Henri, who's a potato without any sort of lovable charm that low-IQ people tend to have. If he's got no other kids he should try again and hope his next attempt ends up much better.

To be fair, Chris was born in exceptionally fucked circumstances but even then Cole Smithey (the brother Chris mentions) is for the most part a normal person despite wanting to be Doug Walker. He also doesn't want anything to do with the Chandler family because his mother ran off to marry Bob and left his side of the family behind, only for whatever the fuck Chris was to come back and pester him for money.

I can't imagine Henry is getting the treatment he is if he isn't an only child. Maybe he's just the eldest, but princelings are a major issue in Asian families with single children.

God he Is literally so funny

In my experience, women like Pippa tend to have an irrational inability to abandon basket cases. We know she has a completely fucked-up family and a history of very dysfunctional relationships. Often it's a sense of guilt, and a there-for-the-grace-of-god-go-I attitude. A 'well I could've been like this but somehow made it, so I should try and not reject other people in similar situations' mindset.

Of course, she could also just find it funny.

Most likely she's afraid that if she stops interacting with him he will kill himself and she will feel personally responsible for it.
