I havent watched that much to know of its a grift or not but once Trump won she went all in and she got a fuckload of numbers. See her all the time recommended on Youtube. By default I just assume every young girl online is a hyper left wing socialist. I'm just kind of tired of "repeating your own opinions back to you" content in general really. Even when it's well-intentioned and done in good faith it ends up being almost entirely self-serving, since leftists aren't going to watch it to have their opinions challenged, and "undecided voters" aren't going to be seeking out political commentary in the first place.

In recent times I've honestly become more wary of political commentators I agree with than ones I don't, since the transparent grifters always end up becoming chummy with more reputable people in their circles and use that position to sensationalise everything for attention - discrediting the arguments being made to begin with.

I really don't like that otherwise respectable people have legitimised that Grummz guy and his contemporaries, as an example. DEI influence on video games is a serious fucking problem and we're being forced to watch an art form being eroded before our very eyes - but these faggots running big "X has GONE WOKE!?!?" ragebait campaigns has made attempts to push back against it a joke in the eyes of less politically-engaged people, especially when they jump the gun and base their assessments on rumours and speculation rather than confirmed facts.

Modern online journalists are the coddled children of news media since most of their work boils down to republishing whatever the AP give them or rewriting a press release in their own words, but for actual investigative journalists who want to uncover news rather than slop-ify reports from secondary sources, dealing with difficult subjects and accepting the negatives for doing so is literally part of the job. People who want privacy are not going to be nice to the reporters interrogating them, hell the reason we even have the Public Interest legal defence is because you sometimes have to use morally grey methods to acquire information that isn't being volunteered to you - and no shit you're going to get some mean comments when you do that. Claiming that a fucking tweet of all things is enough to upset an alleged reporter is pathetic.
