What the hell this is about? I mean she's not really saying due to 'NDA' but given the replies perhaps someone's model was sold and reused or recycled in some fashion? Or I guess maybe they're just going to redo the entire company and try vrev 2? I only really watch nova so I am afraid I am not the best at understanding whose pastlife is who etc.
If it is something akin to that I sorta understand why Nova has a negative view of vtuber corpos, experiences are everything afterall.

VRev2 co-opted Hotaru Iora's account, who was VRev's Gen 0. That's kind of a sore spot for the girls considering Iora was shafted hard by VRev and may or may not have been under some sort of non-compete/stuck in a fucked up contract limbo like Furi was. There was a pretty wide gap in time between Iora being quietly un-person'd and Valentine popping up and I'm all but certain that wasn't by choice.

Sorry if this has already been reported on but I saw nothing posted when searching. On Friday Goro Gaomi, aka Dokibird Alter, from StellarVersePro had a major health scare:
Yesterday the company put out a statement confirming her limits to streaming, and she also elaborated on her exhaustive medical history on stream.
Here's a breakdown of her story:
tl;dr girl who is in constant agony and could arguably give Ironmouse a run for her money for the sick girl Olympics nearly had a heart attack over the weekend and needs to prioritize her health. She also hinted that she's not even old enough to drink and is still in college, if her situation wasn't already bleak enough.
Despite all of this, her one request above all else: treat her like NORMAL.
In her words she can function in the real world but when she has bad days she has really bad days. She doesn't want her illness to be brought up constantly, despises the idea of a sympathy attention and having her content be defined by how sick she is. She's told clippers to fuck off if they're thinking about some dramatic Otakmori tier "she's dying" type video. When she's around she wants to spend that time having fun, not appeasing concernfags, and she wants to accomplish things because she's earned them rather than pity. Common sense says she should take a hiatus to rest for longer but she's still forcing herself to stream when she can, in part because of all the other sad things going on in vtubing like pixelink closing and wanting get collabs done etc. but mainly because she doesn't want sickness to dictate her time.
So I guess in addition to this being a status update, it's also awareness not to saviorfag her if you happen to hear about it. At least go in with the thought that out of all the things she could do between bouts of dying, she chooses to be a vtuber, that's some dedication.

- To start with she lost the genetic lottery hard: her family has a laundry list of issues, with her mom getting cancer 3 or 4 times and major epilepsy.
- Gao was prematurely born at 6 months, life support for a while but otherwise has an OK childhood.
- Started getting chronic heartburn in her teen years.
- Got mold poisoning at a college accommodation, throat was super rough, but got a bit better after moving colleges.
- Shit got bad again, symptoms of epilepsy began to set in.
- Degrades even further, barely able to eat or sleep, weird body pains.
- Take a bunch of blood tests.
- Rather than talking over the phone the doctor immediately called her into hospital once the tests are in (this is an "oh fuck" sign)
- Doctor says she's showing signs of kidney failure: low blood sugar, crazy sodium levels.
- Put her on Metformin and medicine for chronic heartburn, which causes her appetite, sleep issues and vomiting to be even worse than before (she remarks how in an earlier stream her model froze during a game because she had to go throw up, not because she fell asleep).
- When getting meds for migraines, because of course she gets those too (she's now on 6 different pills), the doctor drops another bombshell that her recurring heartburn could be a lingering bacterial infection from when she was a teenager (H pylori).
- Oh and to top it all off she also mentioned that she has type 1 BPD (actual diagnosed, not menhara imagined).
- Stumbles into a Walmart to get water, barely able to breathe or keep her eyes open.
- Walmart employee notices how messed up she looks and calls on-site first aid, who bully her into going to an Urgent Care facility just down the road.
- She's barely able to comprehend the urgent care clerk talking to her, they put her in a wheelchair and get her set up in an IV and monitor etc.
- Doctor sets a nurse on monitoring duty, worried she can go into cardiac arrest at any moment.
- Gao keeps badgering the nurse for her phone, Nurse gives her a firm "bitch rest" and continues to deny her.
- Is so thoroughly dehydrated that Gao guzzles water in seconds on top of her IV drip.
- They give her some pills to help stabilize her, once she's in the clear they discharge her with orders to go see her doctor.
- Finally gets to call her mom, understandably she panics hearing all this happened, drops more genetic horror stories on her.
- She's got appointments with the hospital now to make sure she's OK and look over the medication she's on to make sure it's not causing issues, although she claims it isn't the best hospital (they laugh at her for being on IVs so much).

Some chink published yet another paper on vtubing, this time actually fully public so that I don't have to fucking pay to read something I already know. Skimmed through it, mostly a bunch of "take something simple and make it complicated and impossible to understand so that academics take it seriously" crap.
Vtubing is in large part a cultural phenomenon, not just economics or technology, trying to describe it by establishing a bunch of arbitrary classifications and then using maths to calculate how those work is an exercise in futility.
