From previous streams, I think this actually happened a few years back way before she was vTubing. Might have even been between college and black company time. Either way, I don't think it's recent as the topic of her father just doesn't come up ever.

I don't watch Airi I only saw her in the Pippa Mandela effect collab, but every time I hear an update about her it sounds like her life is going terribly. Is she okay?

She does her absolute best to be upbeat and keep positive vibes in her streams. It's pretty rare she lets her emotions get the best of her, no matter what she's having to deal with outside of vtubing.

Which made it all the more heartbreaking when you could hear her struggling to keep it together at the end of a collab she did in the middle of a break she took a few months ago. A break she took because she was so stressed and dealing with a death in the family that she wasn't able to be her normal, upbeat self. She did great during the collab, but you could hear it afterward when she was talking to her chat.

So to answer your question, hopefully she is. She seems to really enjoy streaming and is almost always in a good mood while doing it, so hopefully that helps her some. I like to imagine the big smiles her model gives off are a reflection of how she's doing at the time, at least.

As Abomination said, despite all the garbage Airi has to go through, she's probably one of the more happier chuubas in Phase Connect. She seems really close to her family and they seem to really support her vtubing career.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I looked into it, and I think Mysta is just stupid. In this stream, he said things like savings accounts are a scam because he didn't understand them and that he didn't notice his old accountant fucked up until it was too late and had to pay 42k instead of 21k. The new accountant he was working with at the time was recommended to him by the company, so they did try to help him. Kyo even mentions that management gives them all recommendations and will help them choose one if they need it. The livers also don't have to use the recommendations; the one Kyo found wanted to charge him 5k to do his taxes, and management even stepped in and told him not to take it, so he didn't even speak to them. Granted, he went to his dad after that and more than likely did not ask the company for more recommendations, but still, this means that they did try to help Mysta. Now whether or not Mysta kept that accountant, I'm not sure, but the fact that he had to be told what a savings account was by a 19/20 year old is worrying.

Adding more to this, saw on nyfco a doxxsis link the stream below (1:38:30 for the people who cant get to the timestamp) where he talked a bit more in depth of why he was owing 350k in taxes.
