Defamation laws are very different in Japan, you can get sued for defamation in Japan and lose, even if you are telling the truth. While Kelsey is deeply bitter and poisonous as a person, I don't think she's stupid enough to break Japanese defamation laws. One of the things you need to do to get Japanese citizenship is "maintain good conduct." Is getting into a defamation trial with her ex-husband good conduct? I wouldn't think so, and I doubt Kelsey would want to spend the money and lawyers trying to find out.

Yeah, it might sound shitty, but I can't help but agree with you. If Kelsey's husband was a huge dirtbag, she would 100% never shut up about it. My understanding (I haven't watched that trash) is that Sex and the City portrayed all of this sexual and material hedonism as glamorous and exciting and empowering. That might even be true for the short-term, but is that the life a woman wants to be living at forty? Fifty? Sixty?
