To give you an idea of how stupid the game design in SWG was, you had three bars called Stamina Pool, Mind Pool, and Agility Pool. You can think of them like HP, MP, and TP except you don't just spend them to execute abilities but if ANY of them hit 0, you're KOed. Enemy attacks can target specific pools so, say you spent half of your mind pool on abilities, an enemy can attack your mind pool since it's basically at half HP, even if your stamina pool is full. If you're KOed, you take wounds which reduce your maximum pool amount and this stacks with each KO. You need to sit and watch dancers or listen to musicians to clear your wounds so you can reach max pool values.
It's funny how there was something of a player revolt when they changed it away from that dumb system. Personally I was a fan of the NGE-era of the game even if a lot of the old-heads hated it. Still every now and then revisit one of the NGE private servers that is run.

And yet you could name them all, even the ball ones are iconic. You mention e.g. Geodude being just a ball with arms, but you'd recognise him from his silhouette.
The original 151 get promoted the most and are more *ahem*
"ICONIC"
Than the generations after it, this includes gen 2, too. Even though from all background info we know of Johtomons are treated basically like Gen 1 DLC.
However, just because you're Iconic doesn't mean you're better than the later generations. It really just boils down to Nostalgia vs being able to say "yeah, I think the giant snowflake Pokemon is cool!"

I will also add in my own gripe with modern Pokemon that I've personally felt but I do feel like post-gen 5 Pokemon have become less "Pocket MONSTERS" and more so whacky technicolor animals.

i think the only ones that did a decent job are Digimon and Cassettebeasts. Even the most hardcore of fangames flop this 90% of the time and it sucks I think Pokémon Voyager is the only one that manages to be a Pokémon looking fangame.

LMAO. I'm playing a game called Crystal Project and fighting a boss where the gimmick is that you can only use magic. The boss ran out of MP, so he can't attack me, and my last character is out of MP, so I can't attack him. So now we're just stuck in a loop of skipping our turns until I give up the battle.

Monster Hunter: Wilds dropped another patch today, which means I boot it up again to see if I can play it!

...Nope, crash in 15 minutes. But, I was finally able to hunt the second monster, and obtain the ability to carry two weapons into hunts! Hopefully by Title Update 1, I'm able to see the end credits, and play for longer than an hour. Checking steam forums for AMD updates, there's always the one person that suggests downloading the optional driver update and deleting the shader cache, at which point they're clowned on by the people running 6900/7900 XTX who should be eating this game for breakfast.

I like what I'm playing so far, but I'm only able to play for 15 minutes at a time, the 1 hour session was an abnormality at this point. Capcom *should* delay Title Update 1 until they fix performance and crashing, but they won't, so hopefully they work with AMD and NVIDIA drivers to pick up the slack.

So the 5070 reviews are out and it looks like the 5070 doesn't even beat the 4070 ti. It barely beat the 4070 super

Better news.

Are people really that fucking hard for 4k? because here I am with a gtx1660 running pretty much everything at 1080p 60 and the changes from medium to high aren't that different. This need of higher resolution seems very retarded to me but if the market goes the way I think it will be, we will be forced to buy 4k monitors once they push the next step in resolution.

Oh man, I was worried when I heard Vicarious Visions got folded into Blizzard. Still worried though because they got Iron Galaxy Studios to make this. Hopefully this does well and we get Underground rather soon instead of waiting 5 years like between 1+2 and 3+4.

Most of the players on Steam are playing on 1080p and the only real movement is towards 2k resolution, not 4k.

4k dropped a full percentage point this year, likely because even the 4k crowd can't play these unoptimized games at 4k resolution.

1080p/120fps and smooth, replayable gameplay should have been the industry standard instead of 8k, ray-tracing, hyper-fidelity, AI frames, mandatory-bloat-per-hour that is the norm - but at this point, I'm just preaching to the choir.

Anyway, reject modern gaming traditions, retvrn to the Old World with its latest DLC release, which itself is almost guaranteed to be a better experience than CIV VII, but the bar is on the floor!

Already bought it, but will probably wait until the weekend to check it out. Been looking forward to it. Curious to see how the various calamities will fully affect the game, especially the plagues.

I liked the upgrade from 1080p60 to 1440p144, but I'm less concerned about 4k60, maybe in five years 4k high refresh. The extra pixels do make games look nicer, I like it much better for general desktop usage also. I really liked the refresh rate increase, but devs seem dead set on bloating games up. I have a 5900x and 3080, but no, Wilds' beta couldn't get the 1% lows over 60....

Game's not attractive visually either tbh

Tech Jesus is particularly sassy with this review. Really digging into Nvidia lying through their teeth saying the 5070 would be comparable to the 4090.

Seems to be HEAVILY implying the benchmarks for the 9070 and 9070XT are dropping tomorrow and look to be very good for what value the card is.
