So uh… bingo, am I right?
Honestly, I'm still not sure why this game exists. So aside from Resident Evil I also got the Dead Space Remake. Pretty good time, though not as scary as I was expecting. Well, except for this shit:

The audio all around is infinitely worse in the Dead Space remake compared to the original. The necromorhps sound like goblins, the guns are all pathetic sounding other than the contact beam, the VA work is atrocious for everyone but Isaac. Other problems are the kinda retarded character and story changes, the modern graphics ruining some of the areas of the ship like the engineering deck, them redoing most of the bossfights but making them just as bad as the originals, and the scariest part of the game being the PC port which EA has just chosen not to fix.Honestly, I'm still not sure why this game exists.
Dead Space 1/2 (and FEAR) are easily the best aged games from that generation, and nothing in the remake looked like they made it better. They just sort of changed some aspects to how it progressed and played from the streams I caught of it. I would have to play it myself but if anything the impact the weapons have seemed lessoned.
From what I understand, Dead Space 2 was one of the most expensive games ever made. I know the framework is still there but I would imagine that it would be hit even harder with that list of nerfs. But, again, it sold, people loved it, and keep saying how it's the best remake of a horror game since REmake, so expect Dead Space 2 to get similarly "improved".
There's something to be said for modern ergonomics. Hand specialists will make bank in another 15 years when all of the Gen Xs are having to get repairs from too long on the bad console controllers are kids.I know people complain about the constant remakes, but you know what? I'm part of the problem. I love (good) remakes. Getting to replay some of my old favorites with upgraded graphics and controls? Inject that shit straight into my veins, homie. I'm hyped as fuck about the Super Mario RPG, Tomba!, Snake Eater, and Thousand Year Door remakes.
Yeah, I've seen quite a few emulators have a "CRT filter" you can turn on to reproduce that effect. It's amazing how effective they were with utilizing the CRT to improve the look of stuff. The other thing is that any of the pre-2010 LCD HD era games are always prime fodder for remakes. Unless you played them in-era, they tend to look pretty bad because they were designed for a very different display medium and sometimes it really shows. The "I don't remember it looking this bad" is because it didn't. CRT's blending did wonders for graphics.
Completely different graphics pipeline. They didn't have to worry about aliasing, so they had a completely different workflow and design approach because the CRT would blend the lines for them. Along with some interesting approaches using image persistence. It's part of the reason Pixel Art sticks around. Making it high res with more rounded edges makes it very inviting as an art style. When we first moved over to LCDs, NES and SNES games looked horrible.Yeah, I've seen quite a few emulators have a "CRT filter" you can turn on to reproduce that effect. I was meant to respond to this sooner, but those 12 hour naps are too good.Honestly, I'm still not sure why this game exists.

Starfield's pronoun-removal mod has been banned by NexusMods
NexusMods has banned a Starfield mod that permitted players to removed pronoun options from the game.www.eurogamer.net
"It's not a 'political statement' or an 'alignment to one side or the other in the culture war'. We stand for diversity and inclusion in our community
Yeah, everything I've seen about the pronoun bullshit in Starfield is that it's just minimal pandering as a smokescreen. When someone came out and mentioned how bad the game is, retards fixated on the part about him complaining about pronouns and ignored all of his other reasonable complaints about the game. That mod and others can be found here.
The thing is the mod isn't really even necessary because next to no dialog actually uses pronouns. Supposedly the stuff that does references your "body type" as a variable anyway, rendering the whole thing pointless. This is all just Streisand Effect.
It's my install; I'll mod it however I like. Fuck you.
