Fun fact! Civ III was the game that got me into turn-based. Before that, I was all real-time, playing mainly first person shooters and real time strategy games. Why play a turn-based video game? Go play a board game if that's what you wanted to do!
For some reason, I downloaded the demo of Civ III and got hooked. Other genres like JRPGs opened up for me then.
