Considering how crazy hard they've been pushing music and everything else all year, squeezing out a such a tiny growth is not much of an achievement.

It's also really funny this is the first time EN has grown at all since the decline started in 2023 Q4.

Overall infinitely better than the last report. Where the last one was drops in almost all categories, this one has gains in most of them.

Considering how crazy hard they've been pushing music and everything else all year, squeezing out a such a tiny growth is not much of an achievement.

It's also really funny this is the first time EN has grown at all since the decline started in 2023 Q4.

The very VERY brief look I did at the report showed that NijiEN's quarter-to-quarter growth is entirely due to merchandise skyrocketing and that same report explicitly includes a slide stating that they've fallen behind massively on fulfilling merch and they're backfilling it, so a lot of that growth is just accounting smoke and mirrors. They outright state it's about 500 million yen (3.2 million USD) in unshipped merch YoY.

Look at the cash flow statement and it makes it very clear. Despite the other numbers showing some crazy stuff like +60% YoY net income growth for the company for the quarter, their YoY growth in cash flow from operating activities was only 9%. Meanwhile their loss in investing activities wiped out nearly half their cash flow from operating activates and the loss in financing activities was nearly twice their entire cash flow from operating activities. NijiEN is still cratering, it's just 100+ million yen in previously unshipped merchandise they're finally allowed to recognize.

Doubt it? Cant really not fire them and cant really demand money or sue on contract that has run out. Shit is unenforceable. And talents going mostly silent for a year can be explained with them either finding job offline/preparing assets and deals to redebut as someone else, indie or corpo.

They round up a negative number from event cancellations and having to pay compensation to a closest positive number. They lost money on events in 2024 Q2, so whatever the fuck YoY they were going to put there was going to be irrelevant
EN side straight up has 0 in events for 4 quarters in a row, 6 if you ignore 2024 Q4. This shithole made no money on events in a year and a half, despite regularly participating in them. Niji is spreading the loss across the board to pretend things are fine, Q1 someone probably forgot to do it or they ran out of positive numbers to cover it up and it's just negative

Is that like company wide or EN only? Because I can kind of understand what might be happening here.
Last year by this point of the year NijiEN had almost... nothing when it came to events. I take it "events" means things like concerts, or 3D debuts or cafe collabs, that kinda stuff. And those who weren't around or had no interest in Niji around that time forget that for the most part of the last half of the year they did pretty much nothing.

In fact I remember doing a huge ramblepost around this same time last year about Niji not doing shit, delaying the 3D's and locking the talents into japan for something we hadn't seen references in months, around the time Nijifes was going down. And I thought things were bad back then...

The point is, going from almost zero to a lot of events, even if the popularity is not the same as last year, can ind of explain the huge number increase

Seeing it stabilize was always realistically going to be the outcome, maybe a bit of dip. As much as people on Twitter and VT are wishing death, it's pretty much just stagnated more than anything.
