Pure copium that graduations might be paused for December because of concert and holiday shenanigans. Paused = stopped in sister brains?
Surely nothing would happen to make NijiEN drop all special days streams for 2 years in a row. Just imagine putting on your resume as a manager "I made sure my company didn't celebrate valentine or white day twice". Pretty sure they skipped bridal month too and EN were only reselling old stock of merch

That feel when you are the one who originally called Uki a dramabaiter and don't even get credit for it. Is this how Uki felt when Gigi ignored his chat message?
Wait what? I haven't been here for the past week or 2, did Uki appear in Gigi's chat? When did that happened?

Edit: OK, I backread and got this gist of it. :ponrys:

Scroll back to a few days ago.
Gigi was streaming league with a title somewhere along the lines of "are you looking"(it was "forces you to look", muh bad), at one point Uki appeared in the chat saying "i'm looking", Gigi did not acknowledge the message in any way, Uki did not write anything else, and TVA, for reasons i truly don't quite understand, made it sound like an extinction-level event has occurred.

"If 12 people bought my shit then I made the same amount off of merch than as my entire 'heist'"

If you too lazy to click the video

If you assume her take home money is $20 off the $77 bundle, then she would have made a total of $240 after 12 months at nijisanji.
$20 is a complete assumption, it could be less due to the cut being 3 ways, she had kawa entertainment (yes that kawa) handled her merch.

Kawa's contracts are well know to be a 35% cut for the individual.
So she made about $320 from merch during her time at Niji.

EDIT: Better calculation farther down the page.

35% generally sounds like it's of profits, so should be MUCH less. Though if it's cheap stuff like acrylics and buttons - can be 35% of the price.

Meanwhile, niji vs cover stonks.

did you calculate this with manufacturing prices in mind? If it's about 60% then kawa would only be taking a 5% cut?
Also tbh i dont know about this "well known". Never heard of it.

It's well known in the sense they were open about it when they actually were having Vtubers under their label.

It doesn't surprise me given all of her breaks/low supas (YT cut+AC cut ontop of that) and not exactly being popular to begin with, for example how likely are you to see people rushing to buy Kunai merch vs Ex-Pomu/Elira/Enna/Scarle/Ex-Selen/Early Vox merch? Hell I think Zaion sold out more before she got the boot.

Cut for vtuber owned by them != cut for vtuber not owned by them.
You can force a 70% merch cut on a vtuber you own, not a vtuber you don't own.
When I last checked here is what they are open about their own vtubers

They likely took 60% after manufacturing cost from their vtubers. The big 60% cut was justified because their vtuber actually keeps 100% all donations and subs. Sunnysplosion doesn't own Kawa Entertainment donation/subs money so they can't leverage that against her interest.

I actually am very interested in knowing about this information. Manufacturing cost and streamer% share is something I'm interested to know but most streamers hide it and I haven't been able to grab a hold of such information.

I wouldn't be surprised if that information is opaque even to them, and that all the intermediaries take advantage of the degrees of separation between manufacturing/shipping and the content creators to inflate their margins. The most transparent info I've ever seen about the merch creation process is on Linus Tech Tips' podcast of all places, and that's because he has an entire division of his media empire handling the merch design and prototyping directly in house.

Kawa dropped their agency side of the business earlier this year - they don't have "their own vtubers" anymore. They only do the merch stuff now. As it turns out their talents had unsustainable contract terms (for the agency) and they were basically trying to run the agency as a loss leader for the merch side of things but the losses were too great.

I know they dont have vtubers anymore, I made the dead minicorpo chart.
My issue was people quoting the ex-vtuber cuts as "widely known" industry cut, when I'm not part of the wide people.

That strategy only works if your merch service brings in enough cash by itself lol, these morons must've thought it was gonna be easy peasy.

best thing Aviel ever contribute to the vtubing industry
Making companies brag about how unsustainable and unprofitable their contract model is.
:BijouBijou:
I remember how companies tried to one up each other on the numbers
Most of these companies linked in this article are now dead & gone except 3:
Pixel Link
Infinite Live - uk based independent group of 1 views and extremely shit models.
Virtux - totally real corpo, the CEO is a male streamer and all the other streamer are girls, totally not making a company to surround himself with girls.

Honestly respect the grifting effort from the 2 micro penis corpos. They must have dm-ed the article writers because no way they found out about these 2 on their own.

Ah, yes, Virtux.

"We won't tell you why we fired them because what they did was so heinous that it would totally ruin their careers but we don't want to ruin their careers so we won't tell you about the career-ruining things that they did but they're fired because of them."

This happened the day after Armcha1r did one of his long-ass streams analyzing labored language and doublespeak in corpo announcements using the recent EIEN "be nice to us pls" statement and, to bring it back on topic, the 95 Theses against Selen from Nijisanji back in February as examples.

NGL I low-key hope Kanna's been setting money aside to buy her IP if worst comes to worst. The other PixelLink girls are great too, but it's hard to believe the company's sustainable with their current numbers.

Though I heard it elsewhere, the original source is in their merch application form:

I mis-spoke, or rather, I didn't have the original source, it's 35% of the profits.

Collectable / influencer merch you're looking at a 30% to 50% profit margin. In extreme cases I've seen 60% but that is not typical. A lot of companies like this will just set a goal of 50% and price accordingly. This is an assertion backed up only by "trust me bro" so feel free to do your own calculation.

A 35% cut of profits at 30% margin is 10.5% and at 50% margin is 17.5% of the sale price.

50% of profit can and does easily become 2% of sale price for more complicated items (i.e. you make hoodie with custom sew, ears and such). Reality is, you can't really afford high profit margin with interesting merch.
Case in point: Eric and his tools production, he barely earn anything from it
