Funny but the first post on any thread that isn't one of the regular generals is basically "What did (other corpo) do this time?"

People don't care about a person's wellbeing or a corpo being well managed, it's all about making the industry burn to bask in the flames now. Drama became a hot commodity after Niji's fiasco and now every social media platform sounds like /vt/.

Fans have gone mask-off since the Selen incident. I used to be more interested in the scene at-large before it all, now I just want everyone outside Holo and a small collection of other VTubers to fuck off and squabble amonst themselves. Nijisisters especially have been exporting their love for infighting and it is obnoxious.

Thank god Holo fans can always retreat back into the walled garden, i.e. stream chat & moderated Discords. It is an echo chamber, in fairness, but it's nice to have a place where the drama gets shut down and you can just... enjoy vtubers.

This isn't just vtubing. This is the whole of entertainment in general, following the "IT GETS WORSE!11" pipeline of releasing a constant, repetitive flux of dramastirring which the youtube trash search will feed to bored people on the train or commuting. For instance Nerdrotic went from under 500k subs to over a million now simply by reminding us all weekly of how woke hollywood will be the end of civilization.

I feel like this is just living in this advanced stage of nihilistic pop-culture-ism. Spend ten years jerking off CinemaSins and train yourself to only see the flaws everywhere, then proceed to ruin everything forever.

The drama mongering is getting tiring which I'm sure to outsiders reading this thread seems really hypocritical coming from us. Yeah, we enjoy a good shitshow, but it has to be organic. The reason why NijiEN imploding was funny was because it is entirely due to their own incompetence. There was no outside interference. It was their own stupid decisions that kept making the situation worse and worse. Now people are trying to force drama where there really isn't any like with Aqua and Ame's graduations. I don't care about stock price penis measuring, but the important thing to take here is that Selen's termination was labeled as "negligible" and cover's market value is a perfect contrast rod to set that as background. You couldn't ask for a better picture to frame that whole thing.
