I'd be very surprised if the TW fanbase didn't know and Nijisanji wasn't already on their shitlist.
In taiwan, there is 50/50 split regarding Selen termination depending the social platform. In common social media or taiwan focus website, the people support dokibird. However, in certain platform that dominated by menhera super nijisister defense force (taiwanese barely used twitter, but a twitter like platform called plurk. It is vomit inducing when you try to use it), they think Selen deserved the termination because she violated the Niji management protocol.

Mel mentioned that she leaked things when she was in a bad state of mind so it was probably some sort of internal drama shit.

As for the leaks themselves, while I do agree that even if I dont trust Raziel (she seems to be doing all of this maliciously) she used to be his head mod and she got pushed aside so there is some legitimacy to her/it/they/xir claims.

They will fuck it up.

How can Niji repair their broken reputation? Massive PR statement.

  • First apologize to the fans for messing up.
  • Acknowledge all of the fuckups.
  • Apologize for what happened to Zaion and Selen but argue that firing them was the best solution in both cases
  • Actually work towards giving your EN talents fucking 3d, make it a promise and set out a roadmap on how to do it.
  • Fire your toxic talents or the ones leaking shit. When doing so explain that the talent was caused leaking information which damaged the reputation of the company and as per contractual obligations there is no other course of action.
  • Fire your useless managements.
  • Hire more managers that focus on the whole perms and music/project/merch thing.
  • Properly train your new managers that have no experience.
  • Increase the fucking merch profit share with your talents to MINIMUM 15%.
  • Close it off by saying that this probably wont fix all of the problems but it is a good step forward to fix the underlying issues and creating a healthier work environment.
  • Open the door to any existing talent to just leave.
  • Don't drag these people down when they do .
  • Publicly announce that any travel costs to Japan for work will be covered by the company.

I doubt any of this will ever happen because management apologizing for fucking up is not really something a JP corpo does. If they can manage to avoid any more issues in 2024 (caused by their own incompetence) they can regain that trust back.
The only way Niji does all those things is if they really see the Western market to be really profitable in the long run. Niji hiring newbie managers and just doing costcutting methods means NijiEN is just disposable for them. Right now, they are in a quandry as the stockholders are now aware that Niji's promise of expansion to add more profits is a joke as they don't know shit about proper expansion.

I can see only two options for them:
- Fold the EN branch ASAP, take the PR and stock hit but refocus on JP and their other projects. If NijiJP continues to be popular then them losing EN is nothing but a minor fuckup. They can also just blame the management and wash their hands of all of it. Stocks will rise and fall so if they're playing for the long run (doubtful) then it will go up. The downside is that any Western expansion is all but dead for them, no way the scorned fans will forgive them especially the sisters.

- Try to rehabilitate NijiEN. Do some spring cleaning and try to release at least the Golden 20's 3D. Push the AR Live and make sure to fire all the staff that is responsible for the Selen situation. Investigate the Lucagate, of he's guilty of breaking NDA then fire his ass. Release a heartfelt apology and start from there. This will at least minimize the negative press and will show that NijiEN is at least sincere in wanting to help the other livers. This also helps them for a future expansion in the western market if Riku decides to ACCELERATE.

But seriously, I doubt they do this as Riku is cheap as fuck. If it'll cut into his profits then he'll just take the hit now and try to sell Anycolor as it is still profitable.

Whatever Niji does, they're fucked either way.

We'll see what happens as the Selen termination is a bigger fuckup that Anycolor hadn't anticipated. They seriously thought that by firing a talent with 800k subs plus is a known hardworker, has a massive network in the FPS and western community and has a very loyal fanbase is just NEGLIGIBLE. Now they know.

I don't think it's necessarily wrong that she was terminated, telling people to reupload the MV is pretty much the lynchpin on that. It's just that in light of what was going on with her leading up to that is incredibly fucked up and just highlights how little Nijisanji really cares about the well-being of their talents and will pull on anything they can to get rid of someone and that makes it completely impossible to side with Niji in any capacity. I imagine she probably just told people to do it because she expected to be dead and not have to deal with the fallout, but then she lived and Niji fired her for surviving. Very merciless action from a company that pushed her there in the first place.

Anyone can say that yes, Selen had it coming because she violated contract shit, blah blah, but those people are literally, willfully ignoring the background of the situation. I hope they find employment with a company that grinds them into literal dirt and doesn't even have the courtesy to compensate whatever family they have left once they redecorate their walls with brain sauce. They accept and support that kind of behaviour afterall, so they shouldn't complain about being expected to die.

I'm honestly not sure if Niji can pull out of this through action. If they survive, I have a feeling it's going to be by just surviving and sticking around long enough they don't have another controversy this big again (if they're lucky). Overall, I hope they can fix themselves though because I don't want Hololive to be unopposed in the large sphere here in the Western Market. I think competition is good and will give cover drive to improve themselves. I don't want them to get lazy without anyone else their size being here.

vshoujo will be a better competitor than KuroEN. They might put pressure to Hololive in the future.

I agree if you're speaking just of NijiEN and not Niji as a whole. EN's name is mud all up and down our side of the industry currently and unless we see some major changes I think that stigma is going to be around for a long time, but JP niki are probably going to be just fine ignoring the trash fire on this side so long it doesn't affect the livers on their side, and so far that doesn't seem to have happened.

We all thought it'd be a talent doing the Final Yab. Who anticipated that it'd actually be a corpo?

Brave should be fine as a rival. They seem to really back V4mirai girls, which means they will most likely back VSPO EN. So unless they took underwhelming talents or get into some drama, they can replace Niji in big 3 for EN without much difficulty. Them and Vshojo will have to do for now.

I'm honestly not sure Niji is doing that well in JP either. Chihiro graduating and redebuting immediately after and then 2 of her Niji genmates retweeting her new debut on their Niji accounts spells trouble to me. Not on the level of of EN sure, but if we see more graduations in the coming months in JP as well it might be worth paying closer attention to.

Since VS is without a doubt the 3rd strongest EN corpo they can easily be bought by Brave Group since they pulled the same shit with VSPO
If they cant naturally grow in this market they will force themselves into it

Boy I fucking hope so.

Er, I mean, uh...

No, that's exactly what I meant. :dokiSmug:
Tbh Noel's menhera seems to pop up more when she does porn, she seems much nicer and entertaining when she just does her hololive thing alone or with others

Realistically what are the chances/timeline of the 3d concert.
I know most of nijiEN has been in japan in the last 6 months but nothing has come out.
I see 2 scenarios:
- Case 1: 3d debuts start rolling in from next week and lets say 20 people gets theirs 3d debut every week. Thats still 5 months away and another 2 months for preparation and the nijien 3d debut hits around september/october. Hitting close to november/december the more delayed the first 3d debut is from now.
- Case 2: they just release the nijien concert and noone gets their 3d debut. Seeing no announcement yet, at the earliest april.

However both cases means the nijien gets to skip the 3d queue that nijijp is in. And we also know that they refuse to pay 3d artists and their employee. NijiJP also hasnot paused their 3D activity, they are still having 3D debuts today. I also remember seeing a few 3D events, one Chihiro's graduation relay stream was in 3d with multiple people I believe. Here we entertaining the worse cases:
Case 3: everyone gets shitty chibi models for the concert
Casr 4: Luxiem gets good 3d models while everyone else uses the chibi models
Case 5: no actual concert is happening and it is some shitty sponsored thing instead
Cast your dices
I would love to see what happens to the nyfco niji defense force if Luca gets terminated for leaking. Wonder if they'll finally turn on the company if Luxiem suffers more graduations or a termination.
I actually dont think they will kick luca even if he admitted he was leaking on 4chan himself unless riku/top jp management themselves stepped in. NijiEN has a clear bias for luxiem and luca.

Remember that Luca postponed a sponsor stream twice due to throat hort. Instead of recasting they just delay it again

The hardest thing for Brave will be brand recognition, rn they are basically nobodies in EN and the majority of people don't give a shit. HoloEN is synonymous with vtubing in the western market, and a lot of people only know vtubers like Gura.

I'd be shocked if other agencies are looking at this and aren't going all-in on expansion efforts, like Phase, and take Niji's #2 spot. The road will be long and difficult to traverse, but it must done if those agencies wish to make it to the big leagues.

Sony tries for a third or fourth time to be successful in the vtubing business, buys Niji, folds Niji EN into Crunchyroll(-hime).

Doesn't help that Brave insists on splitting itself into a dozen different groups. EN in two, soon three different groups.

I get that they're thematically distinct, but brand dilution isn't terribly helpful when it comes to name recognition.

This is true. I think a lot of people are not looking at the situation with Niji from the right historical context. I think people look at how easily and quickly Niji swooped in to take the #2 spot and think "Damn that looks easy, I bet my corpo can do so as well" while ignoring the fact that Niji was already massive at that point, their growth period from startup with less than 20 employees to multi-million dollar corporation was back in 2018, and unlike Holo which took years to get popular, if you look at Niji's early numbers they took off almost instantly, mainly because of their (back in the day) innovative content creation style and philosophy.
I'd actually call them the first agency of the post-king era, though the kings would still retain their importance until 2019ish and would finally drop off completely and be forgotten when the boom happened.

The business plan is clear as day and simple.
  1. Don't be Nijisanji
That's all there is to it!

They're trying a variant of the Nijisanji Shotgun approach. Instead of throwing dozens of new talents into the ocean under one umbrella, they're firing off several groups with different umbrellas and probably only sticking with whoever manages to pop off.

I hope that they don't turn out to be a bigger piece of shit.

Number 2 is gonna be Vshojo. Phase will be 3 by default, but at some point someone else with bigger pockets is gonna show up and surpass them.

At this point Holo has 0 real competition in EN.
