I wonder if the recent surge in old vod recs has to do with a lot of the /pcg/ anons linking and recommending old streams? They've been talking about the alot cause of the osrs stream.
I know this may come as a shock, but I don't think the majority of her viewers at this point are on niche baskweaving boards like /pcg/ to cause actual YouTube algo recommendation changes like that (this also would obviously apply to us, the people here & there make up a very small contingent of her viewers). Constantly assuming the actions of a small handful/congregation of her viewers are doing these big overarching things instead of just chalking it up to YouTube being gay and stupid reaks of thinking that these places are the center of the universe.
I recently watched a youtube video about this sort of thing, specifically photoDNA that Discord supposedly uses for it.
Problem is:
a) proprietary/closed source, no access for those without the means to use it
b) cloud service, not self hosted, no local database to learn how to use with a program of your own design
I normally like narrative-driven games, but when the opening of the game is just someone rambling at you then giving you a list of twenty-odd long-winded options to respond with, you lose me.
