She's mentioned this before, but tl;dr is she does what every NEET does and sits all day with little to no getting up and doing something else, and is now going through the consequences
Physical Therapy is what she needs, but it's going to take a long time to recover, and it's going to be very painful. Better alternative than amputation.
Source: childhood physical therapy, I hated going there, but I only realized I needed to when I was more of an adult
EDIT: Some physical therapies include a swimming pool, depending on where you go
I don't know how someone'd even be able to to sit on their arse for so long without moving, I have to sit in front of the computer for hours on end for work and I instinctively get up and fidget constantly because I get conscious about not moving around enough.
