I hate these kinds of games with narrators like this, the stories are usually not good. It depends on the type of game. The Stanley Parable is good because it's a comedy that is actually funny. It's meta, but doesn't really have much of a story because this type of narration doesn't work well with most stories. This is just a weird amalgamation of genres that comes off as pretentious.
