Seat belt laws were the slippery slope of creating the misconception that the role of US government is to "protect us" rather than "protect our rights".
Pulling someone over for not wearing a seatbelt is really fucking petty. It's obviously just something for the police to enforce if they haven't nicked anyone in a while.

Magpul gen 2 and 3 don't have common reports of melting I'm nearly certain, it's in the magazine well which takes indirect heat, it's not sitting on a barrel under automatic fire... If you mean swelling that shit was solved after gen 1, before they were adopted by the military if I'm not mistaken. Weight obviously doesn't matter in a shoot house, but what average shooter, let alone a competition shooter or mil/ex mil simps for steel magazines? They come with their own problems, hell me recommending alu mags is easier to shit on as they have the same problem as steel, the feed lips bend and or crack more under direct impacts more than magpuls magazines.
