Never spend money on clippers.

Everyone who tried, failed.

It's like paying jannies. Exactly the same work as before, but now they're suddenly entitled and you get bad PR.

Happened to Niji, and indeed, happened to Idol, too.
With what youtube is doing, truly free clippers gonna stop existing. They will have to do some partnerships, start with adding clip channels to their CDN. Even then, youtube gonna youtube and strike channels, and lawyer letters gotta be sent.

I don't want to be on a Mossad dossier, so I'm not sending that follow request, but if any of you are interested, she seems to let most people follow her. I am a bit curious if there's any behind-the-scenes talk on the alt though.

I think MerelyTourist is referencing how ShylilyClips was terminated for two weeks before the channel was reinstated, in spite of being an official clipping channel for Shylily.

This is the most charitable interpretation I can make, but I can't say for sure because I don't speak retard.

Youtube itself strike clippers, systematically. Many clipping channels were nuked for "impersonation", at least 4 that i was subbed to, and Shylily is the only one i know to be reinstated.

These two comments made me realize I'm a little surprised that there wasn't a donothon for the buyout too lol. They did a donothon for everything else, so I'm not sure if I would have been shocked it he went full Super Jew on the way out. "Reach this goal to save the careers of these girls!" Each step could have been one contract or model/ip with the top goal the sellout to Brave!

Yeah, they do. It’s stupid, and the creators being clipped absolutely hate it (a very gray area, legally. You could argue it’s unauthorized intellectual property enforcement, but good luck with that), and they’re ruining themselves in yet another way.

Oh sorry didn't know, does that happen often? And how likely that it was a troll report?

Often enough. Targeted reports will weigh in, but not required for automatic nuking. Of course, poster child grifters like sniperwolf wont be affected

Sometimes YouTube just does a YouTube all by itself. If their automated system suspects you're impersonating a verified channel, even if it's obviously labelled as unofficial, they might just shoot first and ask questions later.

The other problem clip channels have is being demonetised for "Reused Content" which is a rule that was introduced at AdSense-level to try to cut down the content farms/tiktok compilations/bots reading out reddit posts etc., but naturally in true YouTube form it's far too sensitive and instead primarily seems to punish people who reupload content with the creator's permission.

YT is has 3 types of accounts. Professional / Semi-professional, random user and Bot/Content copy. They seem severely incapable of distinguishing between them. I remember Susan crowing about how good their ContentID and challenge system was. The most charitable workdown of the numbers suggested that 1 in 4 professional videos gets hit and that jives with how much of an issue the system can be. It's great at catching someone putting The Beatles in their random trip highlight video that only their family will watch, but it is pretty poor where it actually matters.

I think the music sometimes uses a different system. My video that won the clipping contest had a brief 3 second tune from Spongebob and it immediately tagged some song its from. The shitty thing is that it didn't detect it during the upload process and it wasn't until like 20mins after it was posted that it got hit. I've sometimes left videos uploaded but not posted for like 2 hours to make sure it wouldn't get hit but then an hour after posting it, it gets hit. So it makes me think there's another bot scrubbing youtube's posted videos.

It's not one bot. It's at least 3 passes on each video, audio and text to speech. This is why professional channels upload at least a day ahead, because getting checked in under 4 hours can be an issue. There's also Popularity ranking for the system, so it'll get really popular content a lot faster than something obscure but in the system.

Part of me has always been really curious about diving into their Patents on it. I'm still pretty certain the system is completely breakable via an unmaskable FUD "layer" to manipulate the way the system has to keep something akin to hashes.

But the issue for large channel creators is that there's basically zero carve outs for the channels that actually make YT the most money. Or you're Sniperwolf and clearly did favors for people to get to where you are, lol.

Cross posting from the General Thread:

Idol Corp’s Twitter account has posted this message from Momo Otako. She’s retiring the persona, specifically saying it’s not a graduation. I’m assuming a rebrand under a new name and model perhaps.
