The chat experience is still far superior on Twitch, purely from a usability standpoint. While everything else is ass, at least you don't need a browser addon to get some semblance of stable performance, unlike Youtube. Even with the addon, Youtube's still runs like shit and lags at a server-level.

It is likely that only a total overhaul of YT's chat would fix it, but YT is more occupied with adding stupid shit like AI predictive replies to comments lol.

Yeah, they both kinda are, in their own ways. Youtube dominates the market with VODs, while Twitch is still the most popular streaming platform. Honestly, Youtube is probably too far ahead of the competition to ever hope to find someone to compete with them in terms of VODs, but Twitch looks weaker and weaker as a streaming platform every passing year.

I meant chat feature set, not chat culture. Culture is exclusively skill issue of a streamer.

Delay - Heavily depends. Twitch streamers set high delay all the time due to Twitch's sniper culture.

But for chatting you can set it much lower than youtube, and change on the fly without reatarting the stream.

Discoverability - this is a huge myth. A 1-view streamer on twitch will not becomes a 2-view because twitch discoverability is "better".

Twitch front page thing. Equally available for 1views and 5views. And sidebar recommendations are much better than youtube ones.

VODs and ADs impact the streaming itself. Watching a twitch stream and then getting hit with 2mins of ads right as something is about to happen during the stream should have been removed years ago. It's nice that they have some ads that shrink the screen slightly as an ad appears but they still do ads that completely overtake the stream. VODs are infinitely better on youtube and ads are easily avoidable.

That was my thought as well. When you sustain a nasty impact it's almost cruel how long it takes for you to fully recover, and she probably made it worse by continuing to dance.
