She's practicing for the Twitch Rivals event and is going super tryhard for it. Apparently some of the other streamers that were made captains just grabbed other big named streamers while she went after people that were top 500 to crush them. Doki isn't here to have fun, she wants to win.
Twitch rivals is just the current excuse. Really she's just regressing into a feral gamer....

It's nice to see she's really becoming Phase's Rushia, let's hope she doesn't end like Rushia.

Getting flashbacks from when Selen collabed with the holoboys on APEX and did terribly, arguably one of the most unfun things I've ever seen.

I got ya

I am kinda busy so I do wanna know if Gura says anything interesting in here tho

It's just comfy yapping. The only semi-notable information is that she confirmed that she still chatting with Ame post-graduation.

It is only gonna get worse.

This is all superstitious nonsense graduations just happen

And I doubt anyone in Phase will graduate any time soon

Aside for Clara.

Bossy (formerly Scarlett of VReverie) is debuting her proper model in a few minutes:

Her wife in a previous life Daiya will be watching along:

Doing my part to get eyeballs on her by embedding this tweet:

Korone beat Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door in one sitting. It took her about 36 and a half hours not including breaks, which is longer than her non-stop session of Maka Maka at over 27 hours.

Her parents sent her a text to go to bed.
Korone said (TL by Kontaru):

Just got a text from pappy and mammy to hurry up and go to bed. They have a point🙄

A few highlights from the session.

The stream of Korone's playthrough started on January 13th at 10:30 JST and ended at around 17:00. Korone stayed awake to watch part of the hololive New Year's Game Festival.
Korone said (TL by Kontaru):

Glad to see everyone's having fun…😌💛 #ホロ新春ゲーム祭2025

The New Year's Game Festival started at 17:00 JST and ended a bit before 23:00. Later at 02:39, Korone Tweeted that she had slept for four hours. So Korone could've watched most of the Game Festival before going to bed.
Korone said (TL by Kontaru):

Sorry for the whole long-stream thing and making you guys worry😭
But I just slept for 4 hours🙂↕️getting some proper sleep and still will!
Make sure you guys sleep too you guys!!🐶

Korone started her Paper Mario streams on January 11th at 22:00 JST. If we assume that Korone didn't take a nap after this Tweet from 17:36 and that Korone went to bed at 22:00 on January 13th, Korone would've been awake for at least 52 hours.

More like the market inflated for an audience which isn't there anymore, specially the western market. Shit like Regloss and new NijiJP waves have shown that japan is still growing even now, because vtubers have broken into the mainstream. In japan chuubas are now celebrities that are accepted, they are artists, they get plastered all over akiba in giant screens and in subway stations, their concerts are massive.

In the west we will probably never reach that point, western vtubing is imo a cynical satire of its roots, it's a mockery, a dumb gimmick and it will never be taken seriously. Instead of bursting through to the mainstream like it was doing in 2020, the western market has just become a subcategory of the japanese pop culture and streaming spheres, nothing more than a fleeting novelty. The bubble has finally popped with how many corpos who were trying to copy Holo died last year, I predict that the future will see one of two outcomes: western vtubing will shrink massively and become a niche for weirdos, or it will just become a different kind of streaming that nobody cares about. Or maybe both, the first for the JP companies that manage to hold on and the latter for the westoid corpos who give up trying to imitate the east.
I don't agree with much of your position here. Western vtubing is a shadow of the size and social relevance of Japanese vtubing, agreed, but much of western vtubing came about from a genuine love of Japanese culture. Maybe not every CEO with a vtuber company is a weeb, and there might be some talents using the social norms of vtubing to scam or be a whore, but the vast majority of the talents are doing it for the love of the game. It's hard to find a talent that doesn't have a favourite anime, or a favourite manga, a love of Japanese video game franchises, or stories about being in various fandoms or the like. Many of the people who started vtubing in the west before COVID got into the hobby by watching subbed clips of Japanese vtubing talents. That's not cynicism to me.

As for small vtuber companies disappearing in 2024, yes, but small companies fail in any sphere. I'd say there are a few legitimate reasons for that, but none of those include a "popped bubble". Phase Connect and Hololive saw double-digit growth in viewing data outside of Japan over the last year, some of the most popular Twitch streamers are vtubers. That's good, hard, evidence-based data that seems to be the exact opposite of a burst bubble to me.

My prediction for the future is that vtubing will continue to serve a viewing niche outside of Japan that's slowly growing, much like anime. Not a brave prediction, admittedly, but one that makes sense when overall indicators about the industry outside of Japan seem to be good and improving.

All I can think when I see this game's name: Is it "Me-side", "My-side", or the extra cursed "Mis-ide"? How am I supposed to read this word?

Man ever time I go to type it I instinctively type out mii-side you know like the little Nintendo people, then I have to take a second to clean it up.

Checked their linked website, and then clicked the member list just to see who was in it. Opened a google doc that was in the owner's trashbin. Can't see edit history because of that afaik, but can make a copy, then copy-paste it's contents.

Doc link. Tried to archive with wayback and ghostarchive but they failed for me.

Edit:
Did a quick search, apparently a small vtuber (who says they are an actual minor [A]) made a twitter thread about the "horrible things" surrounding the group.

Archive.

Apparently ElaraVtuber picked the thread up as a story and did a vid/stream on them.

The only thing that rings red flags in all of that is the whole Akuma Miko part. Ai logo? who the fuck cares? Loli lewdtuber? who the fuck cares. They were "unprofessional and blocked someone"? Who the fuck cares. Apparently this is some small shitty group not some corpo as most seem to believe (although they are also partially to blame for that because the image they were selling was one of a small corpo and not of some random vtuber group).

Someone drew a prediction for Shiori and Nerissa's new outfits

Detective Shiori makes SO MUCH sense, she does like to investigate weird shit all the time

Fuck that Nerissa one is pure sex.

In a way I'm actually grateful this is what ended up happening. Most of the new VTubers I come across now genuinely belong in the medium, whereas back in 2020 there was an overload of Twitch whores and other normie streamers that decided to don an anime avatar because it was trendy... Twitch VTubing still hasn't recovered from this.
I disagree with this. Now there are more people getting into it because its trendy. Many of the more established large indies have moved towards doing IRL content and constantly there is a new wave of retards showing face or ass every time a new "Vtuber Vs IRL" trend pops up on Twitter (so basically once every 3 months). I do think that the larger indies deserve their spot but at the same time I feel like Vtubing as a concept has turned from "im a character" to "im a person who happens to use this character avatar sometimes".

Don't worry, she'll then claim "there's only 2 months left in this season, I need to maintain my rank!"

The TSB practice streams were great but that actual tournament stream was peak depression.

"Me-side" as the characters name is "Mita", which is pronouncaed as "Me-tah"
