You know, watching this Walking Dead playthrough is making me wonder what the hell Hololive did to get such a chronic people pleaser as Nimi to throw in the towel.

Dimitri Jap asked her hand on marriage and Fauna said she its no Froot and its loyal to Eddie

I think she was just a bitch behind the scenes.
I'll assume you're joking but I do think Fauna was a lot less tolerant of being told no than others. The newer gens seem a LOT better prepared than Myth+council did, they know more or less what they're getting into and are ready to sacrifice freedoms and doing whatever the fuck for concerts and an instant sub boost.

Aqua was right in saying that things have changed, not because of investors or some other bullshit westoids like to use as a escapegoat, but because Holo is just much more involved in shit now, there's more "homework" and travelling, more logistics, more merch runs and things the talents have to constantly focus on, and that generally adds more bureaucracy. A lot of the older talents probably had different ideas of what they wanted their vtubing career to be, or they were sold on a totally different company. Newer debuts know what they're getting into, they know what they're singing up for, remember that most of myth applied in a time when EN vtubers were expected to fail.

Things change and that is the only universal constant, enjoy your oshis and corpos while they're around and cherish them when they're gone. Nobody in this industry has the right to think they'll stay on top forever or that the corpo they belong to won't change.

They gave Gura preferential treatment when it came to the Maternity leave packages so she decided to quit

In my opinion, it also goes both ways and management is screening for profiles that are more amenable to the company's current way of working, in exchange of taking less risks. This afternoon I was thinking that Justice is basically what you'd get if you tried to design Myth by committee, and I don't mean that at all as a slight about their abilities as content creators or their entertainment value. They're just the same combination of musically-focused talent + artist + streaming whiz kid + memelord/social glue, it's too close not to be deliberate.

I think they worked a lot on gen cohesion as well, Advent is still going strong on the weekly group collab's. Not saying Myth and and Council don't get along but they have a hard time coming together all at once.

edit: I was only half joking about Fauna being a bitch

The bigger question is how talents with way shorter fuses have not if it's such a chronic issue like many people claim.
Do we even know who actually has more or less tolerance for bullshit? Like a lot of people think Kiara is more annoyed than other members when maybe it's just Germanic bluntness. And people who blow up all the time might be letting off steam that way, whereas people who seethe silently might seem more tolerant but be building resentment until it boils over.

While I definitely don't think she's a bitch I do think she's not that softspoken UWU mommy she is infront of the scenes because I've seen several creators who acted calm on screen but turned out to have anger issues behind it

I think the "new thing" with justice was having more euros. That was their main goal with it.

That one is very much deliberate.

I think the travelling's probably the most invasive change for the EN talents since having to fly to Japan several times a year now for the different events makes it much harder to fit the work around whatever else they have going on in their lives. It makes sense that some of them have moved to Japan permanently and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Cover make "be willing to relocate" a mandate for future hires to avoid problems, but the older talents who got used to streaming as a flexible job are probably starting to see what used to be a holiday once a year for Fes turning into a much more frequent chore - and seeing Ina and allegedly Mumei dealing with visa bullshit back-to-back's probably just making the problem worse.

While I definitely don't think she's a bitch I do think she's not that softspoken UWU mommy she is infront of the scenes because I've seen several creators who acted calm on screen but turned out to have anger issues behind it
If anything people who are usually calm can have the most trouble getting problems resolved, because their complaints are typically prioritised lower than the other guy who's clearly absolutely livid. Even the most patient people have limits.

I'm going to maintain my personal rrat, which is that the big Holo events (breaking dimensions and ENReco, specifically) last year had a bunch of issues behind the scenes and it led to some kind of falling-out. Her anniversary was the only one in EN that almost coincided with Breaking Dimensions, her own personal projects that she had been working on for a while (the TTRPG streams) were pushed through by her alone and she was going without sleep to be able to get everything done. Nobody else in EN had that much of a workload while those events were going on, and only Fauna's anniversary got overshadowed by breaking dimensions so directly. There's a two month gap on Fauna's channel filled with nothing but events and 1 or 2 very short yapping streams, and streams prior to the events were sporadic for weeks because of Hololive homework as well. Fauna wasn't the only person dealing with those events, sure; but her channel metrics and merch income were directly impacted by Breaking Dimensions and ENReco, something no other talent really had to deal with to the same degree.

Also I don't buy for a second that all events are "optional," my weekly meetings at work are "optional" too but if I don't join the zoom call I'm getting put on the lay-off list. Even Gura and the graduating Ame showed their faces for ENReco and Holo put it on their investment report ffs, it was very important to someone in the company food chain IMO.

Of course events are not optional, but if you apply to Holo not wanting to do events then I'll call you a moron. That's like applying to VSPO and sucking at FPS.

As for your rrat, it's a rrat and we will never know, no point even speculating on grand conspiracies like that.

Sure, but there's non-optional events and then there's crowding multiple company-wide events in a way that directly impacts your personal metrics and projects more than anyone else's. Again, nobody else had that nearly as bad as Fauna last year, and I don't think Fauna getting fed up with management in that situation is unreasonable.

Why did her anniversary get impacted and not the rest of council? Who all have anniversaries... on the same day? Do you mean anniversary concerts? Did fauna do one of those?
And of course the company is going to prioritize full branch events over personal ones, that's a no brainer. 15 talents are worth more to them than 1.

I don't think it was wrong of her to leave if she felt fucked over by management, and she did. All talents have the right to leave if they don't like how they're being treated. Though I do find it interesting how two talents fucked off now and not in 2022 when EN was basically withering away while Omega fucked everyone over with his passion projects and half of the branch was missing in action.

I didn't watch it, but did they ask retarded questions? I imagine that Cover gave them a list of things that they couldn’t ask about when Calli agreed to be on their show.

Contrary to popular belief this isn't live. It's called an edited video
Cover requested the footage to review first, then edited out all the part they didn't like. Also more than likely provided the technology themselves. This one in particular is filmed with a green screen behind karen lolw, Gigguk talked about being strictly told not to put his arms behind the green screen and he sit like that in the entire video.
They don't even need to provide a list, Trash Taste will have to navigate themselves if they even still want a video to be up.

I'm pretty sure Fauna herself said she would have rater appear on other people's 3D lives rater than make one herself, and she's not the only one that gets her birthday or anniversary shafted by a bigger event considering Bae and Kronii are always the closest to the FES or similar events when it comes to EN.

Are you sure its Cover? As far as I remember, what I know about it is that Calli and her manager is present on-site on the Trash Taste's office.

I don't believe that Cover is like, asking the podcast episodes to them and cut off what they dont like, but I do believe the manager is there just in case it was needed.

Besides, why would Cover need to be the one that cut it out the part they didnt like? Its not like the podcast is sponsored by them anyway, and the boys have their friends/work partners that can do it for the show with Calli/her manager could just say which one to excise

This is the Fauna stream I'm talking about, call it whatever you want. It had an associated merch drop that got maybe two streams of advertisement before getting consigned to the void.

Mumei (and Promise overall) had an anniversary stream after the events, and Mumei had her Birthday Live instead of needing to deal with Breaking Dimensions;

Kronii and Bae didn't even have one on their channels, period;

Irys didn't have any events going on before Breaking Dimensions and is on a different timer anyways.

And no shit a company is going to run cost analysis and fuck one talent over compared to 15 others. If that happens, they should be prepared for that one talent to leave for greener pastures, which Fauna did. Not sure why that's so controversial to say that Fauna may have had the slightest justification in leaving, but whatever.
