Anything more complicated than running a monitor cable into a capture card usually has this issue. Usually you do the direct monitor output to capture card without OBS involved due to the aforementioned two encode problem.

Not necessarily, back when I streamed I'd pump FFV1 video data to the encoding box via Ethernet and the performance cost was low. I didn't use OBS though.

The music industry has quite a few examples of people faking musical or dancing ability. Having someone pretend to dance for someone else in the vtuber format is just the latest version of this.

Still, doing this misses the point. In vtubing we don't mind scuff or lack of ability, if you have an oshi and she's performing on stage you probably don't mind her acting like a bit of a spaz if that's their character. They can practice and learn dance later and that story arc of self-improvement can be part of the reason you support them and want them to do well. We don't need someone to fake their performance.

If someone isnt sure about all that, they should go back to the fauna thread and see how sad people were about a bad singer and dancer leaving hololive
