Fauna is an outlier, since she directly blames management for her leaving, but Fauna is also one talent. The other talents at Hololive seem to be, as far as we're aware, accepting of Hololive and it's current direction.

Also, given the fact that corpos can provide talents with large audiences, and access to resources that might be otherwise difficult to get, and talents are still applying to corpos in large numbers, doomspeaking about the corpo model is very premature at best.

Honestly, it reminds me a bit of Upd8, which also hired a zillion vtubers on a worldwwide basis (not many corpos to buy out back then), only to fall flat on its face.

Brave retains manager/staffs and still try to give a good manager - talents ratio upon acquiring a company.
upd8 just let everyone fend for themselves.

and the big 1 reason why they blew up is overspending on holoearth anyway. which is also a real threat for hololive. They are spending billions upon billions on it.

Upd8 was more of a program which vtubers joined, not so much an agency. Activ8 actually didn't have that many vtubers under their umbrella for today's standards.

Edit: Reflecting on it, there exceptions to this rule, like phase. I think a lot of the mass agency die-offs last year simply had to do with 1. the fallout from Niji and 2. the market, specially the western side of it, beginning to contract. I do not think it's impossible for groups to succeed in the future instead of vtubing being just becoming a clone of twitch with 50 popular indies on top and then gazillions of irrelevant people slaving away to get 0.0005%, a lot of these agencies are just shitty cashgrabs or scams headed by morons trying to copy Holo. At least in Japan I can see agencies continuing to exist by focusing on performances and idolshit for a long ass time, the west is allergic to companies so I can see corpos dying out over here completely if Holo and Niji kick the bucket.

I want to dissect the Bond/IRIAM model.
they operate using the same model as Uber with the motto of "disrupting the market" by lowering entry cost, low balling pays to workers and mass expansion and mass recruitment until they actually profit. Using "economy of scale".
The model worked in Japan because there is a market to disrupt. There are hundreds of thousands of gulligble girls/boys signing up to be a vtubers/idols. Meanwhile there is no such market in EN side. The viewership is shrinking and getting more fragmented with each corpo death.

Brave has no real threat in EN side even if gunrun decided to sell vshojo (hard to imagine any existing talents would want to work under japan corpo autism). The EN vtubing market itself isn't growing. There is no room for a new big corpo.

Unironically "how do you beat gura" is a misguided question. Corpos should be asking "how do you beat ironmouse" and seeking the """""""untapped"""""" normie audience instead of the EN vtubing audience. But at that point why even bother making a vtuber company.
