but as @ValkyrieAce put it as I was typing this out, I'm just curious about the thought process behind making it separate from the rest of JP rather than the next gen.

Pretty much a combination of these two:

Very simple: marketing. You can't just spit out gen n+1 indefinetely and espect audience to stay engaged. Gotaa spice it up with "new project" gimmics, even if it's all pure bullshit.

Legal and bureaucratic autism. They can have different contracts with different incentives, revenue share and requirements without triggering the rest of the company with "well, I want this one too, it's much better than mine". They have much quicker 3D appearance with more events, they are also hiring people who were already very big in music before and it being separate auditions lessens the "I can't get into Hololive unless I have been a professional idol for 10 years" notion that might prevent some talented small time creator from applying. If they get into some trouble the additional layer of separation will also help to not spread it out

Cover already controls a good chunk of the market, which I'd wager is between 50 and 33% depending on which statistic we're looking at, and that percentage is only going to go DOWN as the market ages, diversifies and other corpos muscle their way in to take their own chunk of it.

They COULD just sit back and do what works over and over forever and ever until the market leaves them behind... or they could reinvest some of their infinite money into trying out new ventures to see if any of them stick. It has failed before, but it has also worked before, imo it's a much wiser decision to tap every possible market when you're at the top rather than let some new guy stumble upon the gold and have to rush to catch up.

I was being sarcastic, it's just that a massive chunk of the western audience (and specially people who don't watch Holo) mocked the branch as a flight of fancy or some failed experiment (which in all fairness it could've easily been) but either by good practices or the grace of god it's almost doing better than EOP's own with half the members.

If it was only EOPs, you had Niji livers going full on smug mode about it. When their own company was planning to close the branch if Luxiem wasn't a smashing success. In December 2023 she mentioned not having a 401k. "I should have signed up for 401k...My company was messing around with the 401k so I missed my chance."
Sounds like for whatever reason she couldn't sign up when she was first hired and then never got around to it.


As for the minimum wage part, she said she gets paid "an okay amount, I guess? Slightly above minimum wage probably?"
Based on other comments she's made complaining about being salaried instead of hourly, she probably means the amount of hours she has to work brings her salary close to minimum wage when calculated out.

This was a very eventful day so this is going to be a very long one. The amount of clips for this day is rivaling the amount of clips for a day from holoGTA.

Ollie was very happy of the compliments Chihaya gave to the fancy gate Ollie had built.


Biboo interacts with Nene and asked to go out to a café IRL together with other holomems. [Biboo telling Bae about her achievement]


Pekora asked Biboo if she knows where a savannah biome is but got questioned by Biboo about the plot to kill Keala. Pekora later befriended Kaela. [Kaela telling Biboo about it]


Subaru joins the server for the first time and witnesses Matsuri making a lava entrance for Miko, Sora saying "asshole", and Kaela begging to be released from Biboo and Raora's basement. [Longer version of the meeting with Biboo, Kaela, and Raora]


Kaela also said that she reported it to Bae, so Subaru later questioned Bea on why nothing was done.


Subaru gets informed by Pekora that Ollie gives away diamonds if you do fanservice for her. Risu did a demonstration before Pekora and Subaru went ahead, with AZKi, Iroha and Moona watching along. [Longer version that also has Iroha do it]
