Maybe because she has more popular friends, but I am always shocked at her CCV/views.

Because general sentiment on her was positive then. The downplaying now basically comes from "I don't like her now, therefore past her can't have been anything notable, because past me can't have been wrong".

I was referring to the regular comments of how she was somehow responsible for the creation of HoloEN, which is an exaggeration at best. There were like a 4 months gap between her debut and the audition call for HoloEN, too short of a time for her to somehow convince the management to do something that ambitious. At that time Hololive was already en-route to become popular within the English-speaking community, so most definitely they already had plans for an English branch.

While not as common, I have also seen comments in the form of 1) she single-handedly made Hololive popular and 2) she brought chaotic-ness and horny-ness into Hololive, which are both BS.

Her having a lot of supa just means she has a very dedicated and rich fanbase, I don't see how that has anything to do with how "influential" she is.

It wouldn't be that bad if that's all her fans did. But many of them get really aggressive and condescending if you don't put her on a pedestal. Back then Kiara did a Family Feud for a Myth collab, one of the topics was "This Hololive vtuber brought people into the rabbit hole". There were so many triggered comments in the clip (see below) about how Coco didn't make it into the list (the list was Korone, Gura, Fubuki, Miko and Pekora from highest to lowest). Some of them had the gall to accuse the fans for "being very young" and thus didn't know about how "great" Coco was, which was ironic because everyone in the list besides Gura are more senior than Coco.

Her fans quite literally act like she was a Jesus of vtubing. They attribute everything good to her, they made her a martyr, the more time pass the more things she is somehow responsible for or did all on her own. They never actually watched her content and only heard of her from other fans educating them on how great she was, just like most people never read the bible and only attended church for appearance
