I think it's almost impossible for graduated talents to do as well as they did at the big corporations because they lose all the resources. I feel especially sorry for people like Sara Nagare who's corporation was kind of big (sponsored by Sony) and then collapsed when the parent company withdrew support and closed the company:

She would have had a job at this time anyway even if Prism was still around. The reason she didn't while she was in Prism was that she was still in university for most of her time with the company. There just aren't that many vtubers (and online content creators more broadly) that can independently support themselves off of streaming alone.

Pina seems to be in a similar boat, she's currently on hiatus until later this month due to having gotten overloaded and worried about burnout between her day job and streaming.

We often reference how Kson left Hololive for more talent freedom at Vshojo but all she ever does is get chummy with Gravure Idols. I can respect that, but her content as Coco was just so much better.
Lando/ Caspurr seems to be similar case of someone leaving their corpo only for their content to take a nosedive.

I think the answer to that is strongly based on personality. Some people thrive in different environments. I think of BriAtCookieBox as one major example. She's very active and dynamic. If she didn't have terminal zoomer ADHD she'd probably be a workaholic. Even with it she clearly has an intense drive to create and push forwards in some way or another all the time. Mozumi Pichi is another example. You can argue Dokibird is as well, but I feel she's a bit too unstable overall, and still has a lot of baggage that might be fuel for another burnout or collapse at some point in the future. That's pure speculation, but I'm just very very blackpilled on Asian talents by now due to how much exposure I've had to their cultures and upbringings, it just doesn't make a strong foundation for reliable growth and development.
