Given the timing, I'm genuinely wondering if Fauna's going to be one of the Phase Invaders. She doesn't seem to have any issues with the corpo lifestyle (which makes sense since she's from Hololive, not Nijisanji), just an irreconcilable disagreement with management. Does she have any friends in Phase?

What Phase needs is a mid-sized JP invader but I don't see it happening either. Who knows though, JP talents love joining corpos, it's harder to find an actual indie in this range than someone who's already signed to some no-name shell company.

Nevermind if they'd consider joining, there isn't a sizeable pool of JP indie 4-views period. JP in 2024 anyone past a few hundred viewers jumps or gets scouted into a corpo, whether as themselves or as a fresh debut. There are even more tiny corpo in the JP scene, and these are usually considered more respectable to the JP audience - just how Japanese culture is - even if arguably they're more of a scam than EN small corpos. The Twitch equivalent, NicoNico, has been on life support for a long time and so there's no longer a place for grassroots indie vtubers to grow outside of random virality on YouTube. This has taken away the equivalent 1k-5k range that EN Twitch indies can reach at the top end without big corpo branding to boost them. The handful of extremely successful JP indies are usually converts to vtubing from normal streaming back in 2018/2019/2020, or Niji/Holo retirees.

That's a simplified way of looking at it, but it really is the case that so many JP vtubers both mid-sized and small who might otherwise be worth consideration, are actually associated with random corpos you've never heard of.

Phase (and vshojo) have more to offer established JP 3views than any fledgling JP corpo. Namely, western work culture and EN audience, for a low-low price of indulging fishman's humiliation fetish every now and then. And better revenue split too, most likely.

Honestly, kind of an odd decision to take a chance on a new small corpo like this, considering she had a steady stream of graphic design work, and she's Holo-adjacent (in a way) because of Nerissa. But hey, stranger things have happened in this space.

Maybe it's another situation of someone trying to purge their fanbase. A lot of her fans came from her spamming youtube shorts of her doing "Mommy" deep voice while playing Valorant. Not exactly going to bring in a respectful fanbase with that.
