Edward/Gilbert was renamed Gil-bo and Cid becomes Manma-oji. She got a grudge against Kain who she renamed Bakain. Rosa is now Ore no Yome (Mai Waifu) which led to a hilarious dialogue with Cid's sacrifice.
I wanted to see Cecil and Rosa's child -> I wanted to see Kulaku and Mai Waifu's child.

In defense of Pixel (well, I am biased), in the crop of B-tier small-corpos (which I arbitrarily define as the weight class below Phase and Brave Group), they're the ones who I am relatively confident are getting the fundamentals right, as far as I can tell.

Management is present and has content planned out throughout the year with major seasonal events to ride crests in viewership. There's a steady pipeline of music covers for the ones who can sing. They had some merch problems early on, but have since sourced it out to Kawa (Kawa screws people over with shipping costs too, but the merch itself is ok and doesn't get absurdly delayed).

On the talent side of things, there's no big stinkers, except for maybe Nebi, but that business was dealt with quietly, and she kept the actual whore content off-stream. A "no official Discord" policy has kept fan interaction with talents relatively controlled and probably prevented a lot of drama. Gen 1 are all likable, but they were kind of vanilla for me (except for Lottie), which is part of why I kind of stopped paying attention to them for a while a few months after debut. At the start of this year, my prognosis would have been that they would stagnate despite the quality of their talents and get stuck in the 2view doldrums.

Gen 2 was well-timed (11 months after Gen 1), and they rode the post-debut buff to assert themselves in the small corpo space with VSMP and the recent Mario Kart tourney. A big green flag here is that they have two black corpo veterans (Kanna and Wisu) on board. Kanna in particular is a highly motivated streamer, and probably a breakout talent in the making. I was surprised myself since it feels like I blinked and she's already the biggest talent in the company.

TL;DR: Everything I've seen of them indicates a strategy of steady and focused growth. They've avoided major missteps and even done a few good things that help them stand out. This already puts them ahead of most small corpos in their weight class. Shillpost over.

I've gotten so used to vtubers being lolicons (especially the loli ones) that I just don't care anymore. Muyu's chill, fun, plays great games, and her karaokes are always a treat (if she'd get professional training she'd be amazing). Plus just the right amount of menhera.

I'd recommend avoiding her twitter if the more loli stuff makes you uncomfortable as she does retweet a lot of fanart. She's not usually as blatant during streams, unless the topic of Blue Archive comes up.

As long as their model doesn't look like below it doesn't really phase me.

Honestly, I think the thing that's off about it to me isn't just the fact that she's a pervert about it, like you said she doesn't really do that on main. It's that she goes out of her way to act like a little kid. Plenty of loli chuubas out there who don't do that, IdolEN has several lolis who act normally, hell there are "loli" models in her own company that don't lean into it. There's this massive gulf for me between the "I'm a baby moo moo gaga" stuff and the gamer menhera from planet Flip. I don't know if it's even accurate to call it kayfabe-she's doing it because she enjoys it and it's obviously true to her personality to some extent-but I personally find the latter content much more appealing. Same reason I don't really watch too much FuwaMoco, the weird infantilization/babytalk angle is just not something I enjoy very much.

If you aren't massive, it makes sense to do partial EN content to target as many people as possible. Hell, in a way I would say that Hololive ID had this same problem. had they stayed strictly ID they would have probably struggled way more.

I kind of disagree with that. Meica didn't need to do that to become big, Nimu previously, before her collapse, didn't have that need to had 2M subscribers and the girls of Idol ES in their PLs, where they actually interacted more with ES community, had basically the same number of followers that now without the need to do this favors to the gringos.

There are a plenty of ES Indie vtuber that surpass or are equal in followers to the Idol ES girl without dancing to EN tune. You are forgetting that ID is a bunch of SEA people on separated islands, while Spanish is talked for a whole fucking continent.

ES vtubers can actually grow without this EN content because there is much more audience.

Meica is the proof of that.

That's why I said this whole EN fanservice thing of the Idol ES girls is more because Brave as a whole see Latam as an afterthought than an audience they want to attract.

I just hope they don't put the girls of Idol ES on the sideline.

I agree somewhat, but the caveat is that ES has way less money to spend than EN does. Follower count is all well and good, but EN has more whales and their money is worth far more than any ES-speaker currency that isn't the Euro. And a lot of ES v-tuber fans are LATAM, not literal Spaniards. I don't think it's a smart business move for Brave to fuck over IdolES the way that it probably is going to, but the Japanese aren't exactly known for their skills in navigating foreign markets. ES v-tubing is just not an easy sell to the big players in the industry right now.
